The drama never seems to end in the world of rapper NBA YoungBoy. The young rapper found himself in hot water once again as he attended a court hearing in Utah for his alleged involvement in a prescription drug fraud case. And let me tell you, things did not look good for him.
As NBA YoungBoy sat in the courtroom, his bail was set at a whopping $100K. That’s no small change, folks. And to make matters worse, he remains in custody. The rapper, known for his hit songs and trouble with the law, now finds himself behind bars once again.
It’s no secret that NBA YoungBoy has had his fair share of run-ins with the law. From previous arrests to legal battles, he seems to always find himself in trouble. And this latest incident is just another bump in the road for the young star.
NBA YoungBoy appeared in a Logan, Utah courtroom on Thursday in a hearing in his prescription drug fraud case, in which he’s accused of pretending to be a doctor to obtain a codeine-based narcotic from pharmacies.
The 24-year-old rapper appeared to be in good spirits as he was photographed smiling at the hearing, in which he waived his preliminary hearing and his bail was set at $100,000.
The Baton Rouge, Louisiana native remained in custody in the wake of the court appearance.
‘You’ll be brought over from the Cache County Jail assuming you’re still incarcerated,’ Walsh told the rapper, according to KUTV.
His next appearance, an arraignment, is scheduled to take place July 1.
The musical artist, whose full name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, was initially accused of 63 counts in the prescription drug case, according to WBRZ, but the current docket lists 48 charges.
They include obtaining or attempting to obtain prescription drugs, forgery and identity fraud.
NBA YoungBoy, who is accused of running the fraudulent drug operation from his Huntsville, Utah home, also has arrest warrants active in nearby Weber County linked to the drug case, KUTV reported.
According to KUTV, three other individuals are involved in the drug case, accused of picking up the prescriptions that had been obtained via fraudulent means.
NBA YoungBoy is dealing with other legal issues, as he is also charged in a federal weapons case in his native Baton Rouge.
NBA YoungBoy is accused there of being in possession of an unregistered firearm; and being in possession of a firearm illegally, as he is a convicted felon, following an aggravated assault conviction in the wake of a 2016 shooting, WBRZ reported.
The rap artist has entered a not guilty plea to the weapons charges.
As NBA YoungBoy sits in custody, awaiting his fate in the prescription drug fraud case, one thing is for certain – the drama is far from over.
