New York Jets at Buffalo Bills

NFL betting odds:  BUFFALO -5.5, Total 42.5

NOTABLE STAT:  Jets have allowed only 3.2 yards per rushing attempt

KEY NFL FOOTBALL BETTING TREND:  Bills are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 at home

(For more useful stats and trends, visit our special Matchup Tool)

The New York Jets (4-3 SU, 3-4 ATS) don't generally do very well on the road, and so they have their work cut out for them on Sunday when they travel to face the Buffalo Bills (5-2 SU, 4-3 ATS) in NFL football sports betting action that is set to kick off at 1 PM ET at Ralph Wilson Stadium (artificial turf) in Orchard Park, NY.

In the NFL football betting odds, the Bills are listed as a 5.5-point favorite, with a posted total of 42.5 points.

Here are some NFL football sports betting trends as they relate to this sports betting matchup:

* NY has covered two of its last six games

* NY has lost 16 of its last 24 games SU

* NY has played eight of its last 11 games UNDER the total

* NY has covered four of its last six road games

* NY has lost 10 of its last 12 road games SU

* NY has played four of its last five road games UNDER the total

* BUFF has won five of its last seven games SU

* BUFF has covered 12 of its last 16 home games

* BUFF has won four of its last five home games SU

* BUFF has played six of its last seven home games OVER the total

Also...

* BUFF has covered seven of the last nine meetings

* BUFF has won five of the last seven meetings SU

* Five of the last seven meetings have gone OVER the total

* BUFF has won and covered four of the last five meetings as the home team

* Six of the last eight meetings at Orchard Park have gone OVER the total

The Jets have topped the 400-yard mark the last two weeks, but all that has produced was a loss to the Oakland raiders and a four-point win over a Kansas City team that has won only once. What this means is something we'd be worried about if we were Jets backs, which is that Brett Favre is starting to become undependable. The former Green Bay quarterback three three interceptions against Kansas City's secondary last week, and he now has 11 for the year. So no matter how much production he has, he has the capacity to give it all back.

This kind of multiplies problems when you're going up against a quarterback who may not be capable of as many spectacular moments as Favre, but is at least able to control the ball better. Trent Edwards has only five TD passes, and slightly over 200 yards passing per game, but he has thrown only three interceptions. The running game he has at his disposal carries him a bit, and Buffalo makes opponents work a little harder to score than the Jets do. In the statistic of "yards per point," Buffalo foes have to gain 14.8 yards for every point they score, while that figure is only 13 yards for New York.

A lot of this stuff carries some meaning when you consider the home-road dynamic here. In Orchard Park the Bills are a very tough squad to deal with, covering 12 of their last 16 attempts. Meanwhile, New York has lost 10 of its last 12 on the road. So I wouldn't read too much into Buffalo's recent road losses at Arizona and Miami. This is where they do their best work. For us, it's Buffalo, the 5.5-point favorite in the NFL football sports betting odds.

PLAY:  BUFFALO -5.5 **

The NFL Week Seven Top Seven - Bye Bye, Boys! Hello, Titans!

I hate that! You write and write and write, and then you get a breaking news alert that Roy Williams is now part of America’s Team. Wasn’t this online betting favorite strong enough? Roy Williams has averaged 46.4 yards per game, and it’s certainly not his talent that is in question. A motivated Roy Williams at receiver has all but cemented Dallas’s place at the top of the NFC for NFL betting faithful. For now, however, things do not look good at all.

1. Tennessee Titans (5-0 ATS/SU)
When you’re the only undefeated team in the league, and you’ve been rewarding your betting faithful through and through, you get the recognition. So what if they have Kerry Collins? With Chris Johnson, an absurdly strong defense that allows only 95.8 yards against on the ground per game, and a ball hawking secondary, these are an army of Titans that you will remember.

Next Game: Tennessee -8 vs. Kansas

2. Buffalo Bills (4-1 SU, 3-2 ATS)
The oddsmakers aren’t asleep on Buffalo any longer, and it’s their betting backers that might suffer. Still this team isn’t “sexy” enough to pile up monster spreads. The loss to Arizona was a wash considering that Trent Edwards wasn’t in the game to begin with. That being said, this team’s defense has to have a bigger presence for the Bills to continue their status atop the Furious Seven.

If you want a more blatant litmus test of the Bills, then look no further than a proving grounds gram for both San Diego and Buffalo at Ralph Wilson this weekend. Buffalo is trying to upset an AFC giant that is 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 home games.

Next Game: San Diego vs. Buffalo

3. Dallas Cowboys (4-2 SU, 2-4 ATS)
This is probably the last time we’ll see Dallas in the Furious Seven. Romo is the heart and soul of this team and now Pacman Jones is suspended, Brad Johnson is the new quarterback and they have a BIG personality entering an already volatile locker room with Roy Williams in town. Hell, now they have two Roy Williams! What do they do in this situation? Is it the middle initial on the back of the jersey too?

Dallas is 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games and have turned in to a betting nightmare for all the degenerates that bet on Dallas Cowboys’ football. Despite this, they are still the favorites to win the NFC Championship in our NFL futures, but they might be a stay-away for the rest of the regular season. Keep an eye out.

Next Game: Dallas -10.5 vs. St. Louis

- Buffalo Bills vs. Arizona Cardinals.

The Buffalo Bills have been fantastic for online sports betting faithful so far this season.  They are undefeated, playing well on both offense and defense, and are 3 and 1 versus the BetUS online wagering spread.  Without a doubt, the Bills are the team to watch in the AFC East Division

With Tom Brady going down in New England and the New York Jets’ defense playing below expectations, it’s the Bills that have a chance to make some real noise in the AFC East.  For NFL betting fans, the Bills are simply one of the teams to key online wagers around at this point in the season.  It sounds crazy but it’s true.

The Arizona Cardinals on the other hand are turning back into the Cardinals of old.  They started the season out going 2 and 0.  Since then, they have dropped two straight games.  One of those games, their loss to the New York Jets, was absolutely dreadful.

The Cardinals gave up an alarming 56 points in that game, single handedly getting the over in the BetUS sportsbook.  The Cardinals have a lot of talent on offense but their defense should be better than what it has been so far.  Against the BetUS online sportsbook betting spread, the Arizona Cardinals are 2 and 2.

Here are the BetUS online sportsbook betting odds for this game.

Kick-off:  10/05/2008 4:15 pm est.

Buffalo Bills                             - 1 ½  - 110                   - 125                 O  44 ½  - 110

The Buffalo Bills are 13-4-1 against the spread in their last 18 games following an against the spread victory.
