You want an interesting athlete to follow on Twitter? Then you should follow Chad Ocho Cinco:

http://twitter.com/OGOchoCinco

shhhhhhh follow me too: http:/www.twitter.com/BlkSportsOnline

As you can imagine Chad is a really interesting and updates frequently. Unlike a lot of athletes on Twitter he actually has conversations with his followers.

The media went a little overboard when Chad announced he was getting a Tattoo on his face. As you can see it is not "Tyson Worthy" it isn't even "Marbury Worthy".

Lil Wayne saw the Tattoo and was like:

"That's it?? I had that one when I was eight years old".

If there's anyone who's going to get press from being on Twitter, leave it to Shaq, the studious press journalist himself. Glavine is still mad, and people are still high on moving Ray Allen out of Boston. Stephen Curry is set on going to the Knicks, while the man who invented the Shimmy is trying to make a comeback. Ocho CInco is making bold predictions before training camp starts and how terrible is the French Open security?

New week, new start to the BSO Daily Line.

chadscapegoat.jpg

Here is the reality of the situation. The Cincinnati Bengals are looking for scapegoats. The management is horrible, the coaching is suspect and the players lack the desire, talent and intensity to win. The Bengals for years have passed off their problems on players in hopes that the bias mainstream media will focus on the player be it Carl Pickens or Corey Dillon rather the bigger problem of the Bengals being one of the worse run franchises in the history of sports in the last two decades.

This brings me to Chad Johnson aka Ocho Cinco. I don't care what you have heard from the start of training camp he has been a model player. He hasn't complained, he has stayed positive and even though the Bengals have fazed him out of the offense he hasn't had a blow up.

There are conflicting reports of what caused him to be deactivated for the Thursday night game against the Steelers. Some are reporting a scuffle while others are reporting he overslept for a meeting. It doesn't really matter it is obvious while Chad does shoulder some of the blame that the Bengals are trying to make him there latest scapegoat for their horrible season.

I can't tell you how happy I am to have the old Ocho Cinco back. The one from this summer was a little disturbing to me. I much prefer the fun loving, grill wearing, trash-talking and horse-racing Chad.

Earlier this week, Viva Shetty told you how Chad is thinking about legally changing his name to Ocho Cinco which, of course, I think is the coolest thing ever. I would be first in line to buy one with the Corporate Low Limit Not Quite Ballin Paypal BSO MasterCard. As my boy F350 says:

"The marketing aspects would be sick."

mikephelps.jpg

But even better than that is Ocho's latest boast that he would like to take on Aquaman aka Michael Phelps in a swimming contest. Here is the quote from Chad:

"Where I'm from -- Liberty City -- I know a couple of people who can beat Michael Phelps right now. Seriously. I'm telling you. And I'm one of 'em."

Chad also claims that he was the three-time Charles Hadley Pool champion in Liberty City, Miami. Of course no records of this exist, but fact-finding takes the fun out of the story. I am begging for someone to put this event together and put it on PPV. You have my $49.95.

*UPDATE*

The good people at WHEREISTAND.COM has provided us with a video of Chad making his boasts.

Chad Ocho Cinco?

In case you haven't heard, according to MJD, Chad wants to legally change his last name to "Ocho Cinco". Apparently he has taken the first steps to making this change by filing papers in the State of Florida.

I don't know whether to be amused or annoyed. I mean the man has the right to change his name if he wants to. I mean, who are we to judge? He could be doing a lot worse. But, what if he goes through with this change and then switches numbers? Will he change his name again?

If Chad Johnson ever wants to be taken seriously, stuff like this does not help his cause. It could be worse though. He could change his name to "Seis Nueve".

If you ever believed for one second that Ocho Cinco was going to sit out the entire season, you are probably the same person who thinks that Roger Clemens never used steroids. So it wasn't surprising to me in the least the Chad declared he would be attending training camp.

The situation is eerily similar to the Terrell Owens Eagles fiasco. Here's why. Chad is absolutely correct in his assessment of the Bengals organization, but because he can't keep his mouth from running 100 MPH. he can't get his wish to be traded or get a new contract. Chad's coming to training camp will probably be more distracting than if he would have stayed away.

In the end, just like the Eagles, if the Bengals continue to be hard-headed. they will fail and the team will struggle. Eventually Chad will get released, suspended, traded, or cut. He will get his money with another team and the Bengals will be worse off for it. They should have taken that 1st round pick from the Redskins when they had the chance.

How can I put this nicely?

The Bengals front office, management and ownership are idiots.

While I don't agree with the antics Chad Johnson used to get out of town, I agree that the Bengals are one of the worse run organizations of all time. It is obvious that Chad doesn't want to be there. When you have teams like the Washington Redskins offering a 1st round pick in this year's draft and a conditional 3rd round pick (which could become a 1st round pick) in next year's draft, you take that deal. I don't care if Johnson didn't want to be traded you take that deal. To put it in its proper perspective, the Patriots got the a 4th round pick for Randy Moss and teams are offer a 1st and 3rd for Chad Johnson. No wonder the Bengals are the laughing stock of the league.

I honestly don't know what else I can do for Chad Johnson. Obviously, he didn't read my letter.

"AN OPEN LETTER TO CHAD JOHNSON"

At this point, he is becoming such a distraction that, if I owned an NFL team, I would want to get rid of him. Of course, if I owned an NFL team, it would have never gotten this far. But I digress. I will keep you informed of any rumors about potential trades leading up to the draft.

Dear Chad,

Wassup Ocho! It's ya boy Robert Littal. I'm sure you already know why I am sending this. I saw your interview on ESPN last night and, to be honest, I was a little disturbed.

Chad, you have to know by now ESPN is not your friend. Moreover, the media aren't your friends. They will never be friends to athletes like you even though, without you, they wouldn't exist. I know I've explained this to you before, Chad. We have talked about this several times. But, I'm going to break it down for you in a different way this time. So sit down and try to take it all in.

The media is a like a very beautiful woman who cheats on you constantly. You know she is going to do you wrong, but you are seduced by her beauty. Every time she cheats on you, she says she is sorry and invites you back. Every time, like the simp you are, you keep coming back and then she does it to you all over again. It's like the movie "Groundhog Day".

The beautiful woman will always cheat on the ones that come back. She doesn't cheat on the ones who generally treat her like crap (see: Roger Clemens). It doesn't matter how much the beautiful woman likes you. She will always be creeping behind your back because she knows that you lust for her attention. You are addicted to the attention like a drug. The message board people call people like you "Attention Whores". For lack of a better term, Chad, you need to pimp the beautiful woman and not let the beautiful woman pimp you.

Ocho, I know you see how they do T.O. ,and you know what they are labeling you now:

"THE NEW T.O."

On the one hand, I agree with Chad Johnson that the Bengals use him as a scapegoat for a lot of their troubles. I never understood how it was Chad's fault that the defense gives up 100 points a game. With that being said, very similar to Terrell Owens, Chad's downfall will be his mouth.

He has to remember that the biased mainstream media will always twist his words to make him out to be the bad guy. The more he talks, the deeper hole he is digging himself. His points are very valid about the Bengals organization, but it isn't going to help anything by pouting.

The best thing Chad can do is keep quiet and be the Ocho Cinco that we all know and love. He is opening himself to unnecessary criticism when the focus should be on the multiple problems the Bengals have which aren't number-85.

Say it isn't so Ocho? Tell me you didn't try to punch Marvin Lewis, as my old childhood friend Reggie Sykes used to say, "Straight Up In His Eye".

When you held your press conference two years ago saying it was untrue, to be honest I figured you were lying but not to the extent that you treated Marvin's eye like he was Mitch "Blood" Green.

Mike Florio at Profootballtalk.com had the video confirmation that it went down before YouTube took it down and you know we have defended you against PFT.com in the past. But we can't defend any player, no matter how cool, for punching his coach in the eye like Jason Kidd finding out his ex wife cheated on him with Avery Johnson. It is in the past so there isn't much that can be done now. But when you are begging for a trade, you might want to remember some of the sins of your past Chad.
