Five-time NBA All-Star and 2006 NBA Finals MVP Dwyane Wade is currently having the best regular season of his career and is in consideration to receive his first-ever season NBA MVP award. The Miami HEAT Guard is currently leading the league in scoring (30.2 ppg), and registers in the top ten in assists (8th - 7.5 apg) and steals (2nd - 2.19 spg). He will also become the first player in NBA history to have 500 assists, 100 steals and 100 blocked shots in a season (NOTE: The NBA officially began to keep track of steals and blocks in the 1973-74 season).

To celebrate this historic season, Converse will reissue a limited amount of the WADE 1. The WADE 1 was first launched before the 2005-06 NBA season and was the first-ever signature shoe for Dwyane Wade. He wore the shoe during a breakout NBA season where he led the Miami HEAT to their first-ever NBA championship and recorded the third highest scoring average in the NBA Finals with 34.7 points per game.

Just last year I was killing Wade around these parts for quitting on his team. Bailing out and not playing hard because the Heat was garbage. I don't know maybe he was just following Riley who also quit on the squad. It was unbelievable to me because just a couple years ago the same D-Whistle that effectively stole the Dallas Mavericks Championship. Well not only is Wade dogging entire squads this year, it looks like he's channeled that same Finals Wade that killed the Mavs. He not only has reached that inner MVP, getting the refs whistles to work those whistles but he has his show on cruise control. His Olympic experience definitely had to inspired him. I guess playing next to Bron and Bean will do that to anybody. But maybe Wade really needs to be thrust into that arguement. I think he just has to figure out, much like Lebron has and A.I did before him, how to get an average group of characters to play at a high level. With the Wade Show going full throttle If Jermaine O'Neal can ever find the old J.O. maybe... just maybe.

Now back to Wade, he has the fake crossover pull up working like Stevie Franchise when he was on top of his game. You might of thought he was running through the NFL combine how he's weaving in and out and around helpless defenders while they are foolishly trying to draw a charge. His off balance jumper game is on some ol' Summer League/01 A.I.-ish. Not to mention that sneaky explosiveness, you know the one straight out of the Kobe Bryant transcripts. Just when you thought he burned his man for a nice little lay up, he dunks on a big.

I questioned his TLC band-aid under his eye and his suspect fashion sense at the all-star game. But I gotta give the man credit for the show he's been putting on since Beijing. As a self proclaimed hoops nut, I must confess that there's no more space left on my tivo because of Wade's assault on the league.

I am now a big fan of the The Jabbawockeez after they got down with Shaq Diesel over NBA All-Star weekend. So when I got this picture from the people in charge of the "What G?" campaign from Gatorade (by the way go to MissionG.com for more details about the "What's G?") with the Jabba boys unmasked and D Wade I thought you would enjoy it.

Ironically one of the biggest questions I received over All-Star weekend was:

"What is up with D Wade and the Band-Aid?"

Now the official politically correct answer is that Wade was elbowed below on the left eye by Juwan Howard and needed six stitches to close the gash. So he decided to wear designer band-aids to cover up the stitches.

Of course I am not much for the politically correct way of thinking and here is what I think is going on. Wade was brainwashed into thinking it was 2002 and he was the reincarnation of Saint Louis Rapper Nelly:

Think about it they both allegedly got stitches and needed a band aid to cover it up. They both allegedly played a little "Bed Gammon" with Gabrielle Union (maybe I should get elbowed so I can get a band-aid so Gabrielle will holla at me).

Today is Dwayne Wade's 27th birthday, it is also the same day an article about his divorce came out in the Miami Herald. In court papers filed by his wife, Siovaughn, she alleges that he abandoned their children, committed adultery(although why this is a shock to her is beyond me), and infected her with an unspecified STD. Then it gets nastier: She wants the names of "all his sexual partners" during their six year marriage. Say what? Do you really want the answer to that question? Look I like pro athletes as much as the next person but I would never be dumb enough to get involved with one for all the reasons she stated. Of course Wade's people have denied all these allegations. The article also continues:

From Siohvaughn's pleading: ``Dwyane has dissipated substantial sums of marital property including . . . buying his mother a $2 million church; placing substantial sums of money in an account with another woman; providing numerous friends and family members with unfettered access to accounts with hundreds of thousands of dollars of marital funds from which they made substantial withdrawals . . .''

Divorce is a terrible thing and it can get real ugly I don't know what happened I wasn't there but I would think for the sake of the two children they brought into the world they would've found an amicable way to split or at the very least keep it out of the media. That being said I expect Wade to settle this out of court because he doesn't want this to end up on TMZ or SmokingGun.com if it hasn't already.

According to YBF.com, D-Wade and Gabrielle Union are shacking up. As you know D-Wade is separated from the wifey but the divorce has not been finalized. I'm assuming if this is true its only a matter of time. Personally Wade, if this is just a fling that's fine I mean you are a baller nobody expected you to be faithful to begin with(at least outside your wife of course). However, if you are serious about her. I find this to be a bad idea, one she has a thing for jocks her ex-husband was a former NFL player and she was once involved with Jason Kidd. Now I'm sure you rather have folks talking about you two together instead of you and Star Jones. Another, you guys will be a fixture on blogs like this having everyone in your business. Now some athletes can handle it others can't. Of course seeing as how you didn't go with a white chick I doubt you'll get nearly the pub as say Tom/Gisele or even Tony/Jessica. That is in your favor after all.

The dance is called the "Wu-Tang" and if by the way if you don't know who the Wu Tang Clan is you should slap yourself in the face right now.

It is amazing how things can change in an instant in the NBA or any other professional sport for that matter. Two years ago, we were talking about Dwayne Wade being Finals MVP and how he was part of the elite that is occupied by LeBron and Kobe. Now fast forward to the present day and its amazing how quickly Wade has fallen off. Maybe part of it is due to his injuries and that his style of play is causing his body to break down at a rapid pace? Or maybe we overrated his abilities and he's just an above average player but not an elite star like LeBron and Kobe are.

Now he's barely mentioned in the conversation these days. You still have Kobe and now LeBron but you also have rising stars in CP3, Deron Williams, and Dwight Howard. Dwayne Wade has become rather irrelevant except for those T-Mobile commercials he does with Barkley and even then its all about Charles. However he seems to have developed an image in China as a Sex Pill Pusher. It is unknown whether they received his consent to use his image to endorse sex pills in China. But it does make you wonder if he ever used these pills to get Star Jones' attention?
