chrishenry.jpgJust when you thought Cincinnati was safe from the police blotter, Chris Henry has returned to the Bengals according to ESPN. Of course he has a 4 game suspension that he has to serve in the beginning of the season so technically he won't be around till Week 5. Now this is the same franchise that said a few months ago when they cut him they couldn't tolerate his brushes with the law and they wanted guys of high character. Of course what they really meant was: "We can't have you here because it makes our franchise look bad but if we are really despearte we will call you". Well folks, they're desperate because Ocho Cinco got injured in a preseason game and it looks to be rather serious because with him out and TJ "Who's Yo Mama" nursing an ankle injury. Not to mention two WR's they drafted but haven't really done anything they decided to go with a deep threat that knows the system: enter Chris Henry.

Just when you thought he was gone from Cincy forever he makes a triumphant return a few months later. Just goes to show that winning is all that matters in the NFL. I mean say what you want about Jerry Jones he gets whoever gives his team the best chance to win, he could care less about your rap sheet, and he does this without all the "moralizing". It will be interesting to see what he does with another chance he has been given to prove himself.

photo_servlet.jpgFeel like you have heard this before? That is because you did about eight months ago Henry tested positive for marijuana and was facing a possible one year suspension from the NFL. He was able to appeal and successfully win and then afterwards the Broncos cut him. Now he is unemployed and could face a possible one year suspension if he does not manage to win this appeal either. This could also mean the end of his career seeing as how he is a running back and they do not have much of a shelf life in the NFL. He does not have enough talent for them to overlook his character issues whether its his pot use or the 9 kids he has running around and does not pay child support for. Just goes to show what a moron he truly is it is one thing to test a false positive which is what happened the last time. It is another to test positive again a few months later, even if this is also a false positive why put yourself in a position where this could possibly happen again? If anyone should be happy about this development it should be Matt Jones because folks will forget about his troubles for a short while and focus on Travis Henry being busted.. again.

Innocent until proven guilty? Right? I'm trying really really hard not to jump to conclusions in the latest legal entanglement of Bengals Wide Receiver Chris Henry. I'm supposed to be writing about Ocho right now. That is still coming, just a little bit later. However, I feel I must address the Henry situation first.

You should already know by now that Henry has been charged with punching an 18 year-old. as my good friend Reggie always says "Straight Up In His Eye." and busting a windshield of the victim's vehicle.

Henry says it is a case of mistaken identity which could be true, but it is hard to mistake the identity of an NFL player when getting punched in the face. If proven to be true, it's a wrap for Henry because his promising NFL career is over.

Did I also mention that Henry was a college teammate of Pacman "Make It Rain" Jones? Looks like Rich Rodriguez, the former coach at West Virginia, was running a tight ship down there. This is just another blow to the crumbling franchise known as the Cincinnati Bengals.
