I need your help. The Reality show "I am a Superstar Get Me Out of Here" is having a blogger competition and I am in it.

And since all you guys love me so much this is your time to help me up. If I win the competition I get to go to Costa Rica. So please vote:

That is right the BSO Jet (aka Southwest Airlines) is currently being fueled and will be arriving in Las Vegas sometime this week.

Why will "Ya Boy" be in Sin City? I will be ringside covering the Manny Pacquiao vs. Ricky Hatton Mega Fight at the MGM Grand.

Some what will I have in store for the week?

I have been meaning to get around to this but once again I need to thank the readers of BlackSportsOnline for another monster month in March. After a relatively quiet February (only 28 days as well) we blew up in March with over 1.2 million page views breaking our January record of a little over 1 million page views.

We also broke records for the most unique visitors and overall visitors to the site.
Our "Q" rating is at an all time high and you will periodically see posts from sponsors, contests and well as cable channels on the site. I am also burning up the twitter airwaves (http://www.twitter.com/BlkSportsOnline)

The reason that is possible is because of you. We would have not been able to break some many barriers and cross over into the mainstream sports consciousness without your support.

If I could I would take each and every one of you to Las Vegas with me to see the Pacquiao vs. Ricky Hatton fight at the end of the month, but since I can't I will has a "lap dance" in your honor (wait did I say that? Of course I did my "Pimp Focus" is always strong.)

Once again in my quest for World Domination you can check out "Ya Boy" Robert Littal on the "The Drive" with Dave Smith on 830 AM in LA. Dave Smith has been a supporter of the site ever since I was talking about the Shaq & Kobe divorce back in the day, so it is a honor and privilege to appear on his show which is by far the best Sports Talk show in LA.

We are talking T.O. 24/7. So if you want to hear the truly unbias truth about Terrell Owens release be sure to listen. I will be on around 6:30PM Eastern, so don't be late.

If you aren't in LA go to The Drive 830AM website to listen to a live stream I would definitely appreciate it.

I will also be a guest on the Mark Gray show 1450 WOL-AM Washington, DC today between 7-10pm. This is the station that Petey Greene made famous. Also the Reverend Al Sharpton has a show on there. Definitely an honor to sit and talk sports with Mark Gray who is a phenomenal host.

"Rob you know they be stealing stuff from you all the time"

I hear the whispers when people speak of "Darth Kobe" or how they are "BonaFide". I remember it use to be taboo to have model doing NFL picks then all of sudden Dr. Z had one competing against him every week (Get well soon Dr. Z we are all praying for you). I am a unique guy, a creative person who looks to do things outside of the box. So it doesn't surprise me when it becomes successful to use a rap phrase people "bite my style".

Now I am not accusing anyone of anything, but when I go to SI.com and I see this huge front page promoting the:

"5 REASONS WHY THE STEELERS/CARDINALS WILL WIN THE SUPER BOWL"

It makes you wonder. As you know the "5 Reasons" video has been a staple of the site since 2006 and before you say:

"But Rob how do you know they have even seen the videos before?"

Considering they featured last year's video in the "Hot Clicks" section I know someone has. Could be all a coincidence or it could be something more. If anything I just gave them some free publicity and to be honest my "5 Reasons" are much more entertaining.

Nothing like a BSO music video to get you in the right frame of mind for the Super Bowl so I present to you:

"Half the people in the world are walking around blind pretending they can see"

That gem was spoken to me by a drunk who use to hang out by the bus stop I use to take to High School each morning. For a drunk he was very profound and I often wonder if he was really a drunk or was he sent there to drop knowledge into my brain.

In retrospect he was probably just a drunk, but I always latched on to a couple of his random quotes. This particular one I always try to use when analyzing sports. The point being is that even though your eyes are open that doesn't mean that you are seeing what is going on.

1232858841kx2.jpg

There is no perfect way to make predictions when it comes to sports (trust me I know better than most), but if you really pay attention and don't let the white noise distract you, you can see where upset will happen.

There were a couple of simple reasons why Shane Mosley pulled off a huge upset of Antonio Margarito.

1- Margarito turned in Tony Montana

Here is the real question when will ESPN ask the "Bona Fide Sports Expert" sit across from Skip Bayless? I know Skip doesn't want it I would make the 2 Live Stews look like Milli Vanilli in comparison, but I digress. I think it is cool that ESPN is pitting Skip against some rappers (by the way did anyone else notice that Lil Wayne got all of his playoff picks right?) it definitely spices up the show. Bow Wow is next in line, still he is no "Bona Fide Sports Expert", but here is the info from ESPN:

Bow Wow, a rapper, actor and music producer, will appear on the ESPN2 morning show ESPN First Take on Thursday, January 22. He will sit opposite regular panelist Skip Bayless on the "First & 10" segments debating the sports headlines of the day. ESPN First Take is a live two-hour show on ESPN2 weekday mornings at 10 a.m. that combines interviews, discussion and features in a sometimes light-hearted or humorous manner. The show is hosted by Jay Crawford and Dana Jacobson, with SportsCenter updates.

I have been accused of being an ESPN basher. That isn't the case it is no secret for a long time my dream was to be a Sportscenter anchor. It is no secret my style has been crafted from watching thousands of SportsCenters in my youth. I owe a lot of my passion for sports to ESPN, so no I am not an ESPN basher I just want the media all media including ESPN reporters to be unbiased in their reporting.

With that being said when ESPN got in touch with me earlier this afternoon about my Cris Carter story (which i broke by the way regardless of what you may have heard) I thought it would only be fair to Carter and ESPN to post their response.

Robert,

Read your post about Cris Carter. Wanted to let you know that Cris had the following statement yesterday re comments he made about Terrell Owens ...

"Obviously, I did not mean this literally. It was not the right choice of words. I was simply recommending a personnel decision to improve the Cowboys."

I am cool with that. As I said before I like Cris Carter more than anyone else on the Countdown set I truly believe his opinions are unbiased so in turn I respect his opinions even if I don't agree with all of them. I knew what he meant and I knew that he didn't mean it literally, but as he stated it was a bad choice words.

Even further I honestly do not try to bring up race on this site even though the site is called BlackSportsOnline. For those who don't know the site is called that only because the staff is made up primarily of African-Americans and minorities. With that being said being from the inner city just hearing any man especially a black man saying he will put a gun to someone even jokingly has never been funny to me. There is too much black on black crime in our society hell there is too much violence in our society period and guns are a big part of that problem.

So I will step off my soapbox now and I will consider the issue closed. I appreciate ESPN getting in contact with me to clarify Carter's statement. Good to know Big Brother is watching and reading.

Last night BlackSportsOnline brought you the exclusive video of NFL Umpire Garth DeFelice "Jacking Up" Saint Louis Rams Running Back Kenneth Darby. It is nothing new for BSO to drop an exclusive NFL video before anyone else it is something we are known for in the industry. Our groundbreaking YouTube Video series in 2008 garnered more the 2.8 million views. A lot of our normal partners in crime ran the video and the accompanying article Deadspin.com and SI.com just to name a couple. But when the calls, texts and emails started coming in this afternoon stating that Yahoo.com was featuring the story we broke on their front page I must admit I was a bit shocked. 100,000 new visitors to BSO later you could say that I am still in a bit of awe.

It is one thing to be featured on SI.com it is totally another to be featured on Yahoo.com the #1 site on the internet. You could say that we have hit the big time. Originally it was linked directly to BSO, but now linked directly to our Ballhype BlackSportsOnline Page (check it out if you have time) which is fine because it shows you the diversity of BlackSportsOnline and all the other websites that are constantly checking us out to see how to become "INFAMOUS".

For those 100,000 plus new readers that have visited the site today let me introduce myself I am Robert Littal the CEO. Feel free to put on a Hugh Hefner smoking jacket and look around.

hugh_hefner_1872213.jpg

This sports site is a little different than what you are probably use to, but that is a good thing. Consider me like Morpheus and you are Neo let me free your mind from the "Bias Mainstream Media" Matrix. You Just have to decide if you want to take the "Red" or "Blue" pill. I think the decision will be easy don't you?

My homie Corey Parsons is an up and coming sports radio personality and I was privileged to be a guest on his show "Beyond Da Backstage" Thursday night. Check it out and tell me what you think, you know I value your opinion.

Corey Parsons Beyond Da Backpage feat: Robert Littal - Robert Littal

This video beyond a prediction also gives dating, gambling, eating and life advice, so you should definitely check it out.

If you are interested in the written version just keep reading (video way more interesting though).

Robert Littal:

Season: 109-62-1
Last Week: 8-8

Amber Fox:

Season: 114-57-1
Last Week: 11-5

I am now up 5 games! I think Robert should just quit and let me have the title of "Bonafide Sports Expert" since there really isn't time for him to catch up. I also have concluded that the Browns are playing like this torture me. They purposefully beat good teams (Giants) and lost to questionable teams (Texans) to screw up my picks every week. Next time I'm in Cleveland and I see any one of them, it's over!

Check out the video for all the picks and be sure to check me out at Foreverafox.com

Amber Fox & BlackSportsOnline.com present Week 13 NFL Picks

adp.jpg

Each week of the NFL Season I will break down every NFL Game as they are happening. The early games will be posted first. Then the afternoon games. Then the Sunday Night Game and finally the Monday Night game, so check in often.

Indianapolis Colts 24 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers 20

On the road against the Steelers I must admit I didn't have much faith in the Colts. But that was a knockdown drag out win. I mean the Colts were being physically abused and for a team that has been accused soft in the past they showed a lot of heart coming from behind and beating the the Steelers. This may jump start their season in my opinion. They haven't been healthy all year, but they are still a dangerous team.

Big Ben is becoming a liability to the Steelers. His mistakes cost them the game. He has been careless with the ball all year. No part of that is his offensive line is garbage in pass protection, but a lot of it has to do with him trying to do too much instead of taking the safe throw. The Steelers are a good team, but they need better play from there QB.

Green Bay Packers 27 vs. Minnesota Vikings 28

All I can really say is Adrian Peterson is a beast. He is more than a beast he is like a greek god of football. This is a one player team and he literally won the game by himself. Gus Ferrotte is garbage and played like he had money on the Packers. I can only imagine what would happen if Peterson had a real offense to back him up and a coach who didn't look like a child molester. He could probably run for 3000 yards man this kid is good.

You get the feeling that the Packers should be better than their record indicates. There offense is good, there defense is good and there special teams are good, but there record is average.

The curse of "God" Favre?

Tennessee Titans 21 vs. Chicago Bears 14

I personally like Rex Grossman but he could definitely use a change of scenery. Chicago is just not the place for him. The fans just loathe him and it makes it hard for him to succeed even in a back up role.

The Titans keep rolling along 9-0 just beating down opponents in the process.

Kansas City Chiefs 19 vs. San Diego Chargers 20

I give Herman Edwards credit for going for the win even though if they could have executed an extra point better it wouldn't have come down to that. I never thought I would say this, but Tyler Thigpen is not bad. Not bad at all.

The Chargers still are horrible and it is quite possible the LT is done.

Once again it was another record breaking month for BlackSportsOnline in regards to visitors, unique visitors, page views and hits for August. Honestly I didn't know how we were going to top our August numbers, but we increased everything by 50%. The YouTube videos have been huge success and the articles that have been written over the past month have garnered national attention on sites such as Deadspin, ESPN, CNNSI, The Big Lead, Pro Football Talk, Awful Announcing and so many more it would take three more paragraphs to name them all. Thanks to all of the national attention we have garnered the top spot in Yahoo.com under key word: "black sports". Which solidifies are spot as the #1 black owned sports web site in the United States.

We will continue to do what we do which is bring you the most unbiased and unique sports reporting on the net. We know that when you come to BlackSportsOnline you are not looking for the same old blah reporting that you get elsewhere, but you are looking for that unique perspective with a touch of humor isn't that right Emmitt:

Once again I can not thank the readers and viewers for making the site such a success and since my death threats have decrease dramatically over the past few months I guess that is your way of saying you like us. You really like us.

The interpretation of the rule was correct it is just stupid in my opinion. Watch Jay Cutler's fumble that was called an incomplete pass that was then called a fumble, but since the whistle blew Denver gets to keep the ball. Did that make sense? The NFL is a multi-billion dollar enterprise but sometimes they are so dumb it is ridiculous.

Just wanted to thank all the readers and viewers of BlackSportsOnline for making August our biggest month ever in terms of unique visitors, overall visitors, page views, hits and YouTube views.

Not bad for a site which was once described as one that could never succeed under minority ownership. But we have to keep the momentum going so take a quote from Jay Z:

Go farther
Go further
Go harder
Is that not
Why we came? and if not,
Then why bother?

We hear you Hov.

20 Years of Madden: Here Are My Top 5 Greatest Moments:

1- Bo Knows

In case you didn't know, your Bona Fide Sport is an only child. So growing up, video games were a big part of my life. Madden 92 was my obsession. I was dominating and consistently beating my best friend, Leslie Days, on a daily basis. He never beat me but one day he played the perfect game. Playing as the San Francisco 49ers, he led 38-35 with three seconds left in the game. With the Los Angeles Raiders, I mounted a furious drive down to the 6 yard line. With an opportunity to tie the game or go for the winning score on 4th down, I did what any pre-teen would do.

TOSS SWEEP TO BO JACKSON!!!!

At the 3 yard line, Bo took a leap of faith and with the entire 49ers defense crashing down on him Bo inched the ball across the goal line for the victory. Leslie has never defeated me to this day and refuses to count this victory as he states Bo was inches short of the goal line. I term this victory "the miracle leap." Simply put, 16 years later still my greatest game in Madden history.

2- The Dating Game

When "Ya Boy" was a sophomore at The Ohio State University, he met the girl of his dreams (well at the time she was), Ms. Kimberly Hurley. Talk about a perfect woman. She was smart, funny and, my goodness, she was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen on the OSU campus. After an initial meeting that went well, we decided to go out on a date. One problem though, "Ya Boy" was broke. I was stealing clickster pencils from the book store broke. Pops was out of town on a business trip so I couldn't borrow any funds. So I did what I did best: Hustle rich white boys playing Madden.

I stayed in Morrill Tower across the street from the Horseshoe for those familiar with the OSU campus. On a Thursday night with just $20 to my name, I went to gamble ($20 a game, winners stay, losers go to the back of the line). Starting at 10pm and going on to 4 in the morning, I won 6 games in a row. $140 richer, I showed my 1st love the time of her life on Friday night and had plenty left over to by my clicksters' pencils on Monday (I was a rapper and I needed those pencils).

Ironically, after being with her for 6 months or so, I relayed the story of my Madden exploits to her and how that funded our first date. She explained that the deal was already sealed when I carried her books from the bookstore to her dorm the first time we met and the date really meant nothing in terms of her deciding if she was going to get with me. How sweet!

We don't make you famous. We make you Infamous.

robert.jpg

P3040004.JPG

First let me say I appreciate all the emails, texts, MySpace notes and etc asking me if I am ok. To clear up some of the rumors. I have not sold BlackSportsOnline. I have not decided to be in the Frontline band full time. I have not retired because of the BSO curse.

Simply put I was a little burnt out so decided to take it easy for awhile after the NBA Finals. Those who have been readers of the site for awhile know there was a point in time where BSO was basically the Robert Littal show 24/7 and while I love hearing myself talk even Bona Fide Sports Experts need a break from time to time.

I don't suppose to be writing anything during my vacation, but as you see I will chime in from time to time (sorry I can't help myself). I will ask you the reader to give the other writers the same open mindedness you gave me when I first started out. At one point I was just like them trying to get my voice heard in a market that is tough for minorities to break into.

I appreciate everyone who supports the site and don't worry with NFL & College Football season right around the corner you are going to get more Robert Littal than you probably will ever need or want. Have a good one.

5oha2x.jpg

Ohio State - FAILED
New England - FAILED
UCLA- FAILED
Memphis - FAILED
Los Angeles Lakers - FAILED

In 2008, I have boldly predicted five champions (two in the matter of two days with the Final Four). I have been wrong for five times. 0-5 in 08 for the self proclaimed Bona Fide Sports Expert.

They have coined it:

THE BSO CURSE

It hit an all time high with the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Boston Celtics NBA Finals. Before the Finals started, 100's of emails flooded into my box from anxious fans of both teams wondering who I was going to pick. Forums across the land discuss what the pick would mean for both teams.

When I blindly put my faith behind "Neo" Bryant and the Lakers, even I was surprised by the reactions. Boston fans rejoiced. Laker fans wondered was Bean strong enough to break the curse.

The comeback in Game 4 sealed the Lakers fate and mine as well. The death threats started to come in, the YouTube comments started to get vicious, calls for my retirement, threats of virus being put on the site and some just generally hurt that I let them down.

By the time the Game 6 destruction was over, Boston fans across the nation were offering me dinner at the finest restaurants while Laker fans just wanted my head on a platter.

0-5 in 08

So the question begs: "Am I really cursed and the deeper question is why?" Did all of a sudden, I lost my powers like Superman when exposed to red kryptonite (or is that white or is it blue, but you get my point)? Why am I having a problem beating a model that went to the University of Michigan for goodness sakes?

There is only one more major sporting event left on the calendar to predict this year.

THE WORLD SERIES

I am already hearing the whispers:

"Don't pick my team"

But I carry on like a pitcher who is winless at the all star break or a batter going through a 0-40 slump. But if it is a curse what cause it? I have three theories:

robcurse.jpg

Everybody just relax. When I woke up this morning my email box was flooding with questions about what I think about the Celtics vs. Lakers series and when will the "5 Reasons" video debut. Since I am on a current four "5 reasons" losing streak, it appears that most fans are hoping I pick the other team from the one they are rooting for. They are calling it the BSO curse. It originated from a message board called ASR and now it has spread all over).

Curse or not, the video will debut Monday night, 9 PM, Eastern daylight time, so be sure to stop by the site to see my prediction and to see if the "BSO Curse" will continue. (Maybe we will have a guest or two in the video. We'll see.)
