PACMAN BEATDOWN BY AVERAGE JOE

|

pacmanjones.jpg
Yes he's at it again folks! You would think one would humble himself after all the self-destructive behavior Adam "Pacman" Jones has faced over the years. There's his release from the Cowboys this past January, 30 day suspension for reenacting Mike Tyson's Punch out with his NFL appointed bodyguard/babysitter at a hotel party back in October 2008 and before that an accusation of assault of a stripper in January 2008. Sadly, that is only the short end of long rap sheet dating back to highschool and college that includes marijuana possession, disorderly conduct, public intoxication, felony vandalism, assault and other miscellaneous acts of mischief and mayhem.

This time Pacman brings his thug appeal to the set of Spike TV's fourth season "Pros vs Joes", a reality TV show that pits ex-professional NBA and NFL players against average Joe blows.

Deadspin.com reports that Jones took the term reality TV entirely too far during practice when he went blow for blow with castmate and former Holy Cross linebacker, Dan Adams

So I watched the ESPN Outside the Lines report on Adam "Pacman" Jones and here is the conclusion I have come to:

IF YOU RUN WITH CRIMINALS, CRIMINAL THINGS WILL HAPPEN

Pretty simple if you think about it Pacman rolled with some criminals and in returned a lot of criminal activity happened in his presence. That is totally his responsibility and he is paying for those choices. When you are a high profile figure you have to understand it isn't just about you. Everyone you associate with becomes a reflection of you. Hang with good people you are normally labeled a good person. Hang with thugs you will label a thug as well.

Might not be fair, but it is what happens in our society. When a regular person is in a club drunk and gets into an altercation and says:

"I Will Kill You All"

That is normally just the liquor talking and neither he or his crew have the means to carry out that threat, but when you are "Make It Rain" Jones and you make that statement and your friends are:

MURDERERS!!!!

It is more likely they carry out your drunken threat in your name. What is truth? Who knows it is probably somewhere in the middle, but this should be a lesson for all athletes and entertainers coming up in the game on who not to associate with.

You can watch the report here and draw your own conclusions:

We have talked to death about the latest Pacman "Make it Rain" Jones incident and while I appreciate the NFL Today giving Pacman an opportunity to explain himself if I was Pacman's lawyer I would never ever let him speak to the media again.

I understand we all come from different parts of the United States, but I just don't see Pacman swaying public sentiment professing:

"I LIKE A SCRIP CLUB"

First off most people are trying to figure out what a "Scrip Club" is. Secondly Pacman, "Scrip Clubs" aren't like regular clubs. At regular clubs most the women have clothes on and are not soliciting for money. Actually on second thought I might agree with Pacman on that one because in a lot of clubs the women might as well be naked and they do solicited for money in the form of drinks and whatever else they can get for free, but I digress.

Watch the video trust me you will be entertained.

Strippers around the world shed a tear today with the news that Pacman "Make It Rain" Jones has been released by the Dallas Cowboys. The release came hours after ESPN contacted the Cowboys, the NFL and Jones' attorney about an "Outside The Lines" episode where three Atlanta-area men allege that Pacman in essence order a hit on them after a dispute in an Atlanta strip club (imagine that) while he was still a member of the Tennessee Titans. It appears that ESPN is inferring that once the Cowboys got this information they made the ultimate decision to cut Jones (I will see if I can get an official statement from ESPN).

Now before everyone jumps to their own conclusions there are a couple of things that you need to know.

1- Jones has never been charged for ordering the hit.

2- While investigating a separate case an informant told Atlanta Police that Jones order the hit.

3- The NFL and the Cowboys have known about this from the beginning.

Those are the facts in the case you can read that anywhere now I am going to give you information that people are probably afraid or don't want you to hear.

First, not by any means am I saying these gentlemen lying, but you have to take into consideration it is a lot easier to accuse Pacman Jones than say Tim Tebow especially when free publicly and a possible civil case could occur. Not by any means am I saying the informant is lying, but you have to take into consideration that informants are normally criminals themselves that by giving up information to stay out of prison.

Here is also a very important fact the person that Pacman supposedly put out the hit on is an accused murderer himself.

I just want you to have all the information as you form your opinion.

I have a source that stays in the Atlanta area that is very deep into things that I cannot repeat on this site and I asked what information they had on the possibility that Pacman could have done this and here is what they had to say:

"Pacman probably couldn't, but some of the people that Pacman were with were not the type you would want to f*ck with."

Next part is strictly rumor material so take it for what it is worth from the same source:

Earlier on Wednesday afternoon, according to ESPN, the Dallas Cowboys have released troubled cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones.

Pacman is back again. Remember when MC Hammer came out with "You Can't Touch This" and they played it over and over and over and over again until you were like I can't take it anymore? That is how I feel about the Pacman situation. Cowboy's owner Jerry Jones says Pacman is on his own now. No more bodyguards. No more 24 hour surveillance. No more babysitters to make sure he doesn't make it rain in the strip club. I think it is a good move by Jones considering that our economy is crashing so spending thousands of dollars on a player who doesn't appear to want the help is foolish.

I wish Pacman luck, but honestly I think it won't be too long before the next disaster strikes and he is banned from the NFL for good.

Dictator Goodell:

First thing first Pacman is an idiot. Pacman has no one to blame for the situation he is in but himself. With that being said Dictator Goodell needs to chill out with this over the top discipline. Yes Pacman got in a little dustup, yes Pacman probably needed to be suspended, but the fact of the matter is that there was no arrest, no police report, no harm and no damage. The indefinite suspension was way too harsh and just shows that Goodell is more concern with flexing his muscles as oppose to being fair. A fair punishment would have been a one game suspension considering all this was a mild disturbance that would not have been a big deal if we didn't live in a world that if you are a celebrity and you sneeze the wrong way it is on TMZ.com. I hope you feel like a big man Commish meaning your refs suck maybe you should suspend them without pay.

Back to Pacman for a minute. He needs to get help. Serious help. There are serious doubts that he will ever play for the Cowboys ever again. He has to get himself together and do it quickly before he goes into Maurice Clarrett/Travis Henry territory.

I co-sign that philosophy because at your essence you are the same person that you were when you came out of the womb. You can make tweaks here and there and you can learn from your experiences as you get older but deep down you are who you are.

Adam "Pacman" aka "Make it Rain" Jones has always been a trouble maker or maybe a better phrase would be "a person who attracts trouble". So even though the Cowboys have done everything in their power to keep him on the straight and narrow it isn't a surprise that he had a little dustup in a "Bathroom" brawl with his security detail.

Let me make one thing clear on the surface I don't think the incident is a big deal. I am sure just like normal people, athletes get into scuffles with their friends all the time, but if you are Pacman you have to know that you can't even argue with the drive-thru girl about a missing apple pie without it becoming headline news.

ummmmmmmm....yeah....well....no comment.....

Actually I do have one comment.

Make it Rain is back in the building. After navigating numerous legal entanglements and somehow ending up with the highest profile team in the league Pacman errrrrrr Adam "Make it Rain" Jones has been fully reinstated by Commish Goddell.

Pacman has absolutely no room for error. Any slip up will have him kicked out of the league for good. He is on a great team, he has a great owner, he has great teammates and if he plays well he will get paid. If he behaves he becomes the poster child for making a second (or 23rd) chance work out which means endorsements. With all that being said this is Pacman we are talking about and he could be involved in a shooting as we speak, but for his sake I hope he keeps the rain down to just partly cloudy.

Make it Rain is back in the building, well kind of. Roger Goodell reinstated PacMan Jones temporarily and if he stays out of trouble he will be fully reinstated on September 1st. Meaning he can't make it rain, lose $20,000 in Vegas, punch any strippers or females in general in the eye, spit in anyone's face or pay hush money to people who are facing life for attempted murder. This will be a tough task for Jones, but if he hasn't learned by now he is never going to learn. This was the right move by Goodell because regardless of all of PacMan's failings he has never been convicted of a felony while players who have, have been giving a lot less punishment.

Once again is there a more entertaining team than the Dallas Cowboys? You got T.O., Jessica Romo (who knows if they are still together or not), Horse Collar Williams, a lame duck coach, an assistant coach waiting in the wings, Make it Rain Jones and on top of all that an owner who thinks he is bigger than the NFL. I don't know who made the final decision to have them featured on HBO "Hard Knocks" series but they deserve a raise.

pacmanparty.jpg

The weather is now partly cloudy in Dallas because "Make It Rain" Jones is officially a Cowboy. Make no mistake. Strip club owners all over the metropolitan area are jumping for joy.

And if you think that Pacman won't be in a Cowboys' uniform opening day because of his suspension from the league, you are a fooling yourself. There is no way Jerry Jones makes this trade unless he had it on good authority that Pacman would be reinstated. So as long as he doesn't shoot anyone within the next three months (you never know with him), he will be in uniform by training camp.

The Cowboys are now officially the most interesting team in 2008. You have the Tony Romo/Jessica Simpson ongoing gossip saga. You never know what is going to happen with T.O. "Horse Collar" Williams will be trying to break people's ankles again and blowing coverage left and right. Marion "The Barbarian" will be trying to get paid like he is Barry Sanders. Now, "Make It Rain" Jones is installing stripping poles in the locker room. You got to love that.

So now it comes out that Pacman "Make It Rain" Jones paid "extortion" money to the person who is now charged with attempted murder in the infamous Las Vegas strip club incident. Before the biased sports media gets it all twisted and turns it into something it is not, let's state the facts.

According to court documents, the money was paid not because the shooter was threatening to go to the police about Jones, but because the shooter threatened to go after Jones, his daughter and his mother if Jones talked to the police about the him. Documents further state that Jones, once confronted by police about the incident, told them of the extortion money and identified the shooter.

So, in this case, I don't think anyone should find fault in what Jones did. In the end, he did the right thing by fingering the shooter to the police. So before ESPN spins, just be aware of the facts.

Pacman "Make it Rain" Jones was a guest on the Michael Irvin radio show and basically sounded like a fool. But by now, we should expect that from "Make it Rain" Jones. However, just because he is a fool and doesn't have a good grasp of the English language, doesn't mean that Pacman should still be suspended. Pacman, for all his transgressions, has never been convicted of anything besides a misdemeanor whereas other players with felonies have not served the same punishment as Pacman.

I know "Make It Rain" was the poster boy for the NFL new crackdown on bad behavior. But, to be honest, there will always be rogue NFL players no matter how hard the NFL tries to make you believe there isn't any dirt under the fingernails of the league. It has been long enough! Roger Goddell needs to stop acting like Hillary Clinton and realize it is over. He needs to stop punishing Pacman and let Jerry Jones and Pacman make it rain on the Dallas Cowgirls.
