Yesterday we brought you the story of Reggie Miller who was being accused by the husband of one of his neighbors of chasing after his wife.
There were a lot of different reactions about the story from people blaming the wife, for concerned about Miller’s well being, to calling the husband insecure and etc. More information has come to light and I believe this will clear a lot of things up.
This information was provided by our friends at Deadspin.com.
Alex von Furstenberg is a Malibu surf shop owner, but more importantly the son of fashion legend Diane von Furstenberg and media mogul Barry Diller. He’s also engaged to designer Ali Kay.
According to the restraining order, which was never filed, Miller is neighbors with Von Furstenberg and Kay, and met her at a Fourth of July party last year. In early March, he ran into her at a grocery store, and then waited outside for an hour until she left, before following her up the Pacific Coast Highway.
He also allegedly harassed her by phone, including sending her 53 text messages over the course of less than four hours.
When confronted by von Furstenberg, according to the complaint, Miller turned threatening:
“He said he had friends with guns. He implied I would get hurt if I didn’t stop questioning him on his inappropriate pursuit of my fiancée and his attempts to subvert his efforts.”
The matter seemed to have ended when each party’s lawyers got involved, and von Fursternberg gave this statement:
“I was very upset about Reggie’s behavior towards my fiancée. I think people in Malibu share my views that being a famous basketball player should not provide some sort of shield against inappropriate behavior.
Reggie sincerely apologized to me on a phone call with Ronald Richards, his attorney, and myself. I cannot comment further on the matter as I believe it has been resolved.”
I am sorry something about Reggie Miller of all people saying “he has friends with guns” is utterly hilarious to me.
The restraining order was never filed, but thanks to DiaryofaHollywoodStreetKing.com we have copies of the actual court document.
Was Reggie Miller that hard up? I have been to California several times and there are 100s even 1000s of women who look like Mrs. Kay who would love to sleep with Reggie Miller for a Carl’s Jr. burger.
Fifty three text messages in four hours? Waiting outside of a grocery store for an hour? Telling people you have friends with guns? Come on Reggie you are better than this.
I hate using this term, but Reggie you are a LAME.
It should be noted that Ali Kay did not file the paperwork for this restraining order it was her husband. What exactly that means I don’t know. You would assume if she felt threatened by Reggie Miller that she would be the one going to the police not her husband.
Does that mean she secretly was enjoying the attention that Reggie was giving her? Did she encourage Reggie? Did she act like an innocent victim when her husband found out?
Those are questions you have to answer for yourself.
