How would a normal QB make a crackback block? I think over 90% of NFL starting quarterbacks would make a dirty cut block or not make the block at all on that play…

that figure is purely subjective but i think the fault lies in the playcalling, not in the execution. In a league where Qb's are treated as fragile glass-like creatures, it is uncommon for a starting Qb to be asked to block a safety. Brett favre has made dirty plays like this for 25+ yrs, but he still puts his body on the line (even at 47 yrs old). When was the last time you saw Manning or Brady try to throw a block? Imagine Manning or Brady trying to throw a block at 47 years old… Dirty player… maybe. Dirty play…. definitely. But i do not feel he is a dirty old man because of this type of blocking and for a guy who is new to the team, it shows his teammates that he is willing to put his body on the line. He is like the Rodney King of football…

As far as I'm concerened, the block was above the knee, more in the upper thigh area, I thought it could have gone either way I suppose, but in the heat of the battle you have to be aware of where everyone is around you, Wilson was caught sleeping. Actually good to see Farvre throw kis body in support of his team. Can you imagine what everyone would be saying if he would have let Wilson run by and make the Play without trying to make the supporting block?? Nice Play Brett, Maybe hit a little higher next time.
