One day in the future maybe 1o years from now Donovan McNabb is going to write a tell all book and I am going to be the first in line to read it.
I don’t think I have ever covered an athlete that was more disrespected, but at the same time was coddled throughout his whole career. There is always controversy and drama surrounding McNabb, but he never seems to be the source of it, just the topic.
When you have Rush Limbaugh running to your defense I don’t know if that is a good or bad thing. Especially considering Rush was smack dab in the middle of one of McNabb’s biggest controversies.
Here is what Rush had to say courtesy of ProFootBallTalk.
“This is just the latest in what has been a long line of attacks on Donovan McNabb from black individuals and organizations,” Limbaugh said on his radio show. “They have accused — and I can’t use the term. It’s a purely totally unacceptable term, but they refer to McNabb by using the N-word, and they say he’s a sellout; that McNabb befriends the white power brokers of the Eagles.”
What Rush is saying unfortunately is true as I have heard these things said about McNabb for years. The one caveat is during the T.O, situation there were some legit criticisms that he was a bit too pro management, but there is a way to discuss that without bring race into it.
When Rush Limbaugh is the voice of reason, that could mean the world is really ending.
