Before I say anything I want you to read the quote from Roy Williams courtesy of ProFootBallTalk:

“It’s just not even close,” Williams said, per Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas.com. “It’s not even funny. Not even close. . . . I’m the No. 1 receiver. But things are just going No. 2′s way.”

“He gets the ball thrown correctly his way,” Williams said. “I’m stretching and falling and doing everything. Everybody [else] who’s been here’s balls are there. Our footballs [from Romo to Williams] are everywhere right now.”

Seriously when I read that. Here was my reaction:

He is so jealous of Miles Austin I wouldn’t be surprised if he went out and slashed his tires after the interview. If Williams was smart enough to know how to use Twitter he would have been having a Larry Johnson rant as we speak.

The truth is Roy Williams is just average. He had one decent season with the Lions and that is it. He was only a #1 receiver there because they had no one else. When they got a real #1 receiver (Calvin Johnson) they got rid of him.

Lets be real here if he wasn’t making 128373 million dollars a year he would be on the bench. The top 3 Dallas receivers are Austin, Crayton and Hurd. Williams should be the 4th receiver.

Just because someone tells you, you are the #1 receiver doesn’t mean you are. Michael Irvin came out this week and said that Williams doesn’t like to be coach (shocking). I have watched Williams on film. He doesn’t get off the jam, he doesn’t fight for the ball and he doesn’t separate from receivers.

Before you compare him to T.O. remember T.O. could be a pain, but he caught 38 touchdowns with the Cowboys in three years. Williams has caught three TDs in a year and a half.

Most of the so called issues T.O. caused were behind the scenes or “leaked” information, but this is a blatant in your face quote against Romo by Williams.

If this was T.O. or Chad Ocho Cinco it would be front page news, but because Williams is a scrub it will forgotten by Sunday.

The Cowboys should just admit their mistake and cut Williams after the season because he isn’t going to change or get better so why bother.

My advice to Williams in the immortal words of the Rock know you role and shut your mouth.

Roy Williams is garbage. But all of sudden since Austin's emergence as a star, he's getting a ridic amount of targets. I know Austin is occasionally getting double covered, but Romo isn't even looking his way a lot of the time. Watch the eyes. Last game, he had Austin wide open down the field and gunned it into tight coverage to Roy for an incompletion.

“It’s just not even close,” Williams said, per Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas.com. “It’s not even funny. Not even close. . . . I’m the No. 1 receiver. But things are just going No. 2’s way.”

“He gets the ball thrown correctly his way,” Williams said. “I’m stretching and falling and doing everything. Everybody [else] who’s been here’s balls are there. Our footballs [from Romo to Williams] are everywhere right now.”

Williams has an ego issue. He had an illustrious career at Texas. He was drafted high for Detroit, traded back to HIS stomping ground (ego). And he can't handle that some nobody has risen up the ranks out of nowhere (Monmouth) and is legitimately the best receiver on the team – be it running routes, blocking, or CATCHING THE FUCKING BALL.

But since he said that, Roy Williams has 10 receptions on roughly twice as many targets. In the previous 7 games, he had 13 receptions. And he was targeted – he just had the lowest completion percentage of all the options on dallas. I think it was something like 11% (that's the number I remember…it seems really low, don't cite me) from the in-game stat I saw, but I don't know a website that actually records targets (anybody?).

Granted, he's playing better than he started the season. But he's still garbage, and now Romo's trying to keep him happy because of some delusional pecking order that Williams is trying to maintain.

If the Cowboys are gonna make the playoffs, they're gonna have to cut the sloppiness. And Romo has to forget about making Roy Williams happy and pass to the open receiver.
