Roy Williams is garbage. But all of sudden since Austin's emergence as a star, he's getting a ridic amount of targets. I know Austin is occasionally getting double covered, but Romo isn't even looking his way a lot of the time. Watch the eyes. Last game, he had Austin wide open down the field and gunned it into tight coverage to Roy for an incompletion.

“It’s just not even close,” Williams said, per Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas.com. “It’s not even funny. Not even close. . . . I’m the No. 1 receiver. But things are just going No. 2’s way.”

“He gets the ball thrown correctly his way,” Williams said. “I’m stretching and falling and doing everything. Everybody [else] who’s been here’s balls are there. Our footballs [from Romo to Williams] are everywhere right now.”

Williams has an ego issue. He had an illustrious career at Texas. He was drafted high for Detroit, traded back to HIS stomping ground (ego). And he can't handle that some nobody has risen up the ranks out of nowhere (Monmouth) and is legitimately the best receiver on the team - be it running routes, blocking, or CATCHING THE FUCKING BALL.

But since he said that, Roy Williams has 10 receptions on roughly twice as many targets. In the previous 7 games, he had 13 receptions. And he was targeted - he just had the lowest completion percentage of all the options on dallas. I think it was something like 11% (that's the number I remember...it seems really low, don't cite me) from the in-game stat I saw, but I don't know a website that actually records targets (anybody?).

Granted, he's playing better than he started the season. But he's still garbage, and now Romo's trying to keep him happy because of some delusional pecking order that Williams is trying to maintain.

If the Cowboys are gonna make the playoffs, they're gonna have to cut the sloppiness. And Romo has to forget about making Roy Williams happy and pass to the open receiver.
