Randy Moss had a tough week.  Both opposing players and media saying he quit on the Patriots, but Randy quieted his critics a bit with a nice game against the Bills, but as Randy stepped to the podium for his post game press conference two things happened.

First he blasted those who questioned his greatness, but more importantly he caused a Twitter stirred for appearing to look homeless.

His beard is definitely of homeless proportions, but it got me to thinking is it is the worst sports beard of all time?

Here are our top 5 candidates besides Randy and you make the call:

1-      Ricky Williams

Back when Ricky was smoking he grew this monstrous beard.  It actually spawned the nickname that I created from him.

“Shady Grady”

Because it looked like the beard the great Sanford and Son character Grady rocked.  Now of course Grady was like 60 years old but I digress.

2-      Kimbo Slice

I still think there is a nest of birds hiding in Kimbo’s beard.  Sometimes the beard is referred to at the Rick Ross after the rapper, but there seems to be some confusion that had the beard first.

Kimbo’s beard has been much more successful than Kimbo’s MMA career and will probably live on well after Kimbo has faded into oblivion.

3-      Pau Gasol

The international beard of Pau Gasol is interesting because it looks more like a bad haircut on his face as oppose to a full beard.

It could use a good lining and maybe a shampoo.

4-      Baron Davis

The difference between the Baron Davis beard and say the Randy Moss beard is that Baron appears to care about the upkeep of his beard.

Depending on his weight Davis either looks like Rick Ross with the beard or D-List actor starring in a Tyler Perry movie.

5-      Matt Light

The classic Grizzly Adams look never seems to go out of style.  At least two out of every three offensive lineman sports this beard.
