Considering I am already embroiled in one “racial” situation (if I never hear the word coon again I would be eternally grateful) this is probably not the best time to post this, but hell I am Robert Littal this is what I do.

The All-American Basketball Alliance wants to start up a basketball league this summer in Augusta, Georgia.

The league only wants white basketball players who were born in the US.

I will be perfectly honest before I read the entire column from the Augusta Chronicle I didn’t really have an issue with it.

Whites are the minority in the NBA and if they want to have their own league to help increase their chances to make it to the NBA more power to them, who cares. Yes it sounds a little suspect, but wasn’t worth my time.

But then I read the quotes from the Commissionaire Don “Moose” Lewis.

Here is what Moose had to say:

“Here’s a league for white players to play fundamental basketball, which they like.”

Lewis said he wants to emphasize fundamental basketball instead of “street-ball” played by “people of color.”

“Would you want to go to the game and worry about a player flipping you off or attacking you in the stands or grabbing their crotch?” he said. “That’s the culture today, and in a free country we should have the right to move ourselves in a better direction.”

“People will come out and support a product they can identify with. I’m the spoken minority right now, but if people will give us a chance, it’ll work… The white game of basketball, which is essentially a fundamental game, works.

Street ball played by “People of Color”?

The white game of basketball?

Crotch grabbing?

He can’t be serious can he?

Unfortunately I think he is.

The one thing I attempt to do, believe it or not is not paint a whole race with a broad brush.

Meaning just because Gilbert Arenas is an idiot that doesn’t mean people should think every black player in the NBA playing Face/Off in the locker room.

This maybe a better example.

Imagine if every black person in the world based what they thought of the white press just off Rush Limbaugh?

You wouldn’t think that would be fair would you.

So it is totally ridiculous that Mr. Lewis paints every black NBA player with such broad stereotypes. Once again in general I have no issue with an All-White minor league system, but I do have an issue if your motivation for starting that league is because you want to show how “pure” your players are to the “people of color”.

I have heard of organizations like that starting before, haven’t you?
