Perhaps the reach of Tiger’s CTU is farther than previously thought. According to TMZ, the plane that flew over Augusta during Master’s play bearing messages for Tiger Woods has been grounded. After an inspection by the FAA that turned up “a number of mechanical issues,” the plane was ordered to return to its home airport. The plane’s owner contends that the only issue was a well-worn seatbelt tag.
All is not lost, perhaps. There are still plans to fly a third banner if a suitable aircraft can be obtained. It would be a shame to deprive the galleries of this well-planned snark attack. Tiger’s still a formidable opponent, as he showed on the course Thursday, so perhaps the available aircraft suddenly turn up booked. It’s not as if he doesn’t have the resources to pull it off. But he’s singularly focused on golf, so of course he’s not behind any schemes to silence the opposition; he lets his clubs talk for him.
And let the Corner say, Amen.
