Did Allen Iverson & His Crew Get Into Brawl at ATL’s Wet Willies?

Sometimes just so I can have some peace and quiet, I will turn the BSO Blackberry on silent.  But as any person who has had a Blackberry will tell you, even on silent that “flashing red light” is always calling you.

Even though I wanted to enjoy a quiet, non-eventful evening, I gave into temptation and picked up the phone to see several BBMs and text messages.  Considering it was roughly 1am ET, I thought that was a bit odd.

The first message simply read:

“ROB, YOU WON’T BELIEVE THIS A.I. AND HIS SECURITY CAUSED A BRAWL AT WET WILLIES”

Wet Willies is a new nightspot in Atlanta.  The BSO Empire is strong in the ATL and sure enough there were more messages saying the same thing.  I did a quick search and here is what I found:

I would take any account you hear of what happened with a grain of salt.  While I am pretty confident from the information I have received that something happened, normally the fantasy becomes greater than the reality.  We will never get the real truth (unless there is some video someone would like to send me) as more people tell their versions of the story.

What I do know is that Iverson and his entourage did get into an altercation.  The reason why is unclear, but I have been told this isn’t the first time A.I. and his crew have caused some trouble at Wet Willies; it is the first time it has escalated to this level.

I have true concern for Iverson because I can see a scenario where being away from basketball, some of his more destructive habits start to take control of his life and lead him down a very dark path.

Hopefully he can pull it together, because things like this – even if they are only partially true – don’t bode well for his well-being in the future.  Iverson is in his 30’s; he doesn’t need to be getting into altercations in the club, that is what youngins do, he is too old for this type of foolishness.

On the bright side, it doesn’t appear he “strong armed” in females in the ladies bathroom.
