A few weeks back I made it a point to say that I respected the way Shaq and Shaunie O’Neal were handling their divorce.
There wasn’t a lot of drama and most things were being handled behind the scenes. But then the “Basketball Wives” show came out, Shaq started singing Rick James, Shaunie started to date the “Fake Braylon Edwards” and all hell broke loose.
The latest being reported by TMZ.com – I truly want to believe isn’t true. While Shaq is a lot of things, in general most people say he is a good guy; but if this story is correct we might have to reassess that. Here are the details:
Shaunie O’Neal’s lawyers just fired off a letter to Shaq’s people, claiming the bball star “interrogated” the couple’s children to tell him everything they knew about her new man … “to the point that they felt intimidated and scared of him.”
Shaunie also claims Shaq told their 6-year-old son to tell her boyfriend that Shaq “is going to kill him” — and that Shaq even screamed at the kid and said, “Say it now! My daddy is going to kill you!”
I am going to give Shaq the benefit of the doubt here unless there is some audio or video of this. I just can’t see anyone telling a 6 year old that – but if true Shaq has some serious insecurities he needs to deal with.
As episode two of “Basketball Wives” debuts today I am sure that this isn’t the last we have heard of such foolishness.
Everyone is a loser in all of this, except VH1 of course.
