While you guys are eating your BBQ and enjoying your day off, here is some positivity. Chad Ochocinco has always been known for his antics on the field, and now is even more famous because of his recent run on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars. Something that does not get enough attention though, is that Chad is very giving with his fans. He often does ticket giveaways, shopping sprees, or pays for an entire theater of fans to come watch movies with him.
Here is what happened as shown here:
Nine-year-old Ruben St. Hilaire, Jr, who lives with this mother in a homeless shelter in New York City, received an autographed jersey from Ochocinco after sending a letter. He then sent a second letter that would have melted the heart of the hardest individual.
“Mr. Johnson, you really make me happy. One of my goals in my future life is to be just like you when I grow up. I wonder who was your role model when you were little? I have three role model(s) in my life that’s my mom, Mr. President Barack Obama and my favorite football player Mr. Chad Johnson. To me you are the best football player in the NFL. May God bless you and your family happy holidays.”
Here is a link to the video of Ruben reading his letter and as you see, Chad surprised him by coming out and even leading everyone in singing Happy Birthday to him.
I give a lot of respect to Chad for going out of his way for this young fan who has had it pretty rough. There is a lot of “Chad is a diva” stuff out there and I just hope that everyone who is so quick to write those articles and posts is just as quick to tell their audience about this story. If this kind of story does not touch you, I do not know what will. Athletes are always doing wrong or crazy things, and we try to bring you all the news that you guys want, whether its good, bad, or ugly. This time is it very good. Well done, Chad.
