Lendale White Blames Chris Johnson 2000 Yard Season For Titans Failure

Before we ponder this theory, here is exactly what Lendale White had to say:

“I think what happened was in Tennessee they probably got a little too carried away with the Chris Johnson thing,” LenDale White said on Fox Sports Radio via SportsRadioInterviews.

“The year before that we were 13-3 when I had two hundred carries and we split the rock.  Chris went to the Pro Bowl and we had the first round bye, they did things different the next year and we struggled to make the playoffs.  It is what it is,” White said.

So in essence what White is saying is that because he didn’t get his 200 carries, the Titans didn’t make the playoffs.  I can not confirm or deny if White was drinking any Patron during the interview, but if you are reading, Lendale, I have a math lesson for you.

In 2008 White and Johnson combined for 2001 yards.

In 2009 Johnson alone ran for 2006 yards.

If you owned a business and could find one person capable of doing the work of two – especially if that second worker is more concerned with what is on the lunch menu than productivity – what would you do?

You would do with that Titans did and fire Lendale White.  The fact that he would make such a ludicrous claim just lets me know that White was never about the team, but about himself.

The Titans problems last year had nothing to do with their rushing attack, but the inconsistencies at quarterback and a defense that gave up too many points.

It just screams of envy and jealousy that White has for Johnson; maybe he will get a VH1 reality show where he can cry about it.

  • Lendale White can't be serious to even dare make a statement like that. I literally chuckled when I saw the title.
