Tyson Gay broke the 200m straight world record at Sunday’s Great City Games in Manchester, England. Gay clocked 19.41 seconds, running 9.88 seconds for the first 100m before crossing the 150m mark in 14.41 seconds.
The previous world record was 19.5 seconds which was held by Tommie Smith, the same man that gave the black power salute in the 1968 Olympics. This record held for 44 years.
Looks like Bolt may have some competition… finally.
