That’s right, Byron — only three hours left until Free Agency officially kicks off.  With that in mind, the Cavaliers are zeroing in on a head coaching hire.  After talks stalled with Brian Shaw, word is that he has withdrawn his name from contention.  Now, Cavs insider Brian Windhorst is reporting that the Cavs are in contract talks with former New Orleans coach and ESPN personality Byron Scott.

What this will mean for the Cavs’ chances at re-signing LeBron James remains to be seen, but Scott is a fine coach and a proven winner as a player, things that are important in instilling confidence in a team.

A good hire by Dan Gilbert, but perhaps too little, too late.
