Video: Ben Roethlisberger’s Accuser’s Statement to Police
More details are leaking out about the Ben Roethlisberger case, and this is the most interesting.
This is the accuser’s statement to the police.
It is one thing to read it, but a totally other thing to listen to it.
What is perfectly clear to me is that the police officer conducting the interview doesn’t believe her.
One of the problems with the investigation from the beginning was that the police seemed to be dismissive of the claim. When the police don’t believe you, it is hard to believe (at least initially) they conducted a proper investigation.
It should also be noted that once the accuser decided she didn’t want to go forward in the case, it pretty much killed the case — regardless of whether you believe her or not, or how bad the police botched the investigation.
