Allen Iverson To The Miami Heat?
These stories are going to pop up a lot in the next few weeks and months. The premise is simple, veterans who haven’t won a ring trying to latch onto The South Beach NWO trying to piggyback a championship.
Iverson who has had a tough couple of years in regards to his basketball career says that he has the desire to get back into the league.
The problem is no one really wants him.
Very similar situation that Terrell Owens is facing now, I think most assume the A.I. can still play, but people wonder if he is willing to take a secondary role.
The Heat have come up as a possible destination for various reasons the DailyPhiladelphian.com has more details:
LeBron James may have cracked the door open for AI to not only play in 2010-11, but cap his career with the ring he covets.
Iverson is sitting at home waiting for phone calls. He was sent home from Detroit when the Pistons were struggling for their playoff lives in 2009 because he didn’t see himself as a bench player. He went all summer practically begging for a chance to play. He lasted just three games in Memphis for the same reason.
The Heat need AI and AI needs the Heat. It’s a marriage made in Leon Rose’s office.
Leon Rose?
See, Leon Rose is the agent for Dictator James; he’s also AI’s agent. In fact, Leon rose to the top of the NBA agent profession based on his recruitment of Iverson from David Falk, the former King of the Agents.
You don’t think Rose wants Iverson back on the court? You don’t think he’s going to talk to James about AI joining the team?
If there is one team out there that can control Iverson’s ego at this point, it’s the Heat with James, Wade, Bosh and Pat Riley. If Iverson’s serious about just wanting to play and helping a team in any way possible, the Heat is his best option.
I had it on good authority when the Grizzlies dropped Iverson after three games that Lebron wanted to bring him to the Cavs, but it never materialized.
Do I think A.I. will end up in Miami?
No
I think they have enough personalities to juggle an adding Iverson would just make the circus that much bigger. Furthermore I don’t think Iverson would ever be happy as a 4th or 5th option. His primary skill is as a scorer and that is something the Heat don’t need. They need size and a guard that can drain open threes and get them set up in their offense.
So I don’t think the “Answer” to the Heat lack of players is Allen Iverson.

We need to call them the Miami Mon-Stars.

Interesting theory, let us see how it pans out. The League of ExtraOrdinary Gentlemen could use a point guard to break down the defense and share the ball. Superman (Lebron), Nightwing (Bosh) and The Dark Knight (Wade) need assistance. It still July, the allure of playing with them is enough to lure some talent. The Glove rode the bench with White Chocolate for a ring. Anything is possible. Chicago is making real noise, quietly.
I just don’t think this experiment is going to work. It looks like the 2004 olympic team minus 2 shooters. Now i heard mike miller is going to be there center. He can shoot a open Jay but is he the answer. And can Derick Fisher be the point guard they need. I thought Luke Ridenour(I know I misspelled) was going to be there option but he is 30 and looking for money. I Bet Your Bottom Dollar they are going nowhere. No Front court(Bosh needs a 7 footer next to him just ask Hedo and Barnani) and no shooting = No Ring in my eyes
P.S.
Fear The Deer
Chicago is going in 2nd place in the division
Then again Iverson's salary last year with the 76ers was 650,000$. Thats right within the Heat's price range! Good write again, good stuff.
allen iverson is the perfect fit,no disrespect to chalmers and auroa but, allen on the court at the same time with the big three, teams would have to deal with four players that can break down any one on one defender at anytime. Allen Iverson won all of his allstar MVP awards playing the point, this great player deserves this spot. Miami better quit playing and get this guy befor LA.
Pat Riley knows basketball,he knows he would be wise as a fox to sign The Great Allen Iverson. Just think two nba mvp's on the same floor(iverson, lebron),along with The Great Dewayne Wade (who should have been nba season mvp) that has already won the championship and championship MVP. My man Bosh who hasn't got the respect his numbers deserve, folks we are talking Dynasty. Oh yeah Haslem all ways brings his Heart to the Heat, that guy is a warrior. Shaq quit playing and join this party .I like Big Z and I hope he can still sink that wide open elbow jumper he going to see all season
what a loser..i hope they don’t even make it down the road to the championship..now that would be too hilarious
