Nothing like bringing a racial component into someone’s
DEATH!!!
Where is Jesse Jackson?
Here are the full context of Limbaugh comments from Yahoo.com:
“That cracker made a lot of African-American millionaires,” the radio commentator said Tuesday on his show after the New York Yankees owner died at age 80. “He fired a bunch of white guys as managers left and right.”
This story was buried so deep that after I was told about it, it took me ten minutes to find it. You would think in our society if there was one thing we wouldn’t use for “ratings” and “more listeners” is someone dying.
How insensitive is that to Steinbrenner family?
As opposed to searching and grasping for “racial” overtones in things like the Dan Gilbert letter, we allow people like Limbaugh to directly slap people in the face with it and guess what do the majority of people do?
They turn the other way because they rather talk about how the Dream was cheating on Christina Milian.
Which is their right and it is not my position to tell people what they should or shouldn’t speak about.
Just remember that Limbaugh is a multi-millionaire on par with Dan Gilbert and he makes in your face racist statements on a daily basis and no one does anything.
Because why on earth should African-Americans be allowed to make millions of dollars while white managers be fired?
That is not the way society is suppose to work.
With that being said Al Sharpton (Wade to Jesse’s Lebron) did speak out against Limbaugh and here is what he had to say.
“The comments were “repugnant and offensive whether they were intended to be facetious or tongue and cheek.”
For the last 20 years I have known George Steinbrenner, and we have quarreled over diversity and community programs, but I always found him fair, direct, and genuinely prone to do what he felt was right,” Sharpton said. He said that Limbaugh owed Steinbrenner’s family an apology for timing his rhetoric on the same day as Steinbrenner’s death.”
And while I don’t agree with everything Sharpton does I can say on this point, he is exactly correct. Death isn’t the time to make point or push an agenda.
Even BET wouldn’t do that.
