In more LeBron news, it seems that what the Knicks’ presentation lacked in substance was made up for in the area of shock value. Earlier today the PowerPoint presentation that the Knicks gave was leaked online (which can be viewed HERE), but now it is being reported that the Knicks showed LeBron something that fans of the show The Sopranos have been itching to see since its abrupt season finale in 2007.
Knowing that the Sopranos is LeBron’s favorite show, it is reported that the Knicks recruited James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano) and Edie Falco (Carmela Soprano) to star in a short film shown to LeBron James at the start of the Knicks’ presentation to the free-agent superstar this past Thursday, in what is reported to be the last time the two co-stars will ever reprise their roles as Mr. and Mrs. Soprano.
The plot was written so that Tony Soprano hadn’t been killed off in the final episode after all. He was wearing a beard and living with his wife in the witness protection program. Tony told Carmela he had an important friend coming to town who needed a place to stay. The friend’s name was LeBron James.
Carmela found the perfect location for a man of James’ stature in midtown Manhattan, at a location known as Madison Square Garden.
The look on James’ face indicated that he was immersed in the show. The Knicks knew that James was a fan of the hit HBO series.
Okay, so you are telling me that one of the best shows ever known to man was rehashed in the form of a mini movie geared towards bringing LeBron to New York?
I literally am speechless at this point. Let me break this down… One of the best shows known to man that was ended in 2007, in which the cast expressed on numerous occasions that no character on the cast of the Sopranos would ever be seen again on any screen, was reprised in the form of a mini movie starring TONY AND CARMELA SOPRANO for LeBron to consider coming to New York?
Fans of the Sopranos have been very proactive in trying to get one more episode of this show on the air or even a short movie bringing proper closure to the show, in the form of petitions and even more extreme tactics such as fans sleeping outside of David Chase’s house (the creator of The Sopranos), which have all been unsuccessful to this point.
LeBron says it’s his favourite show and this occurs?
Again … WOW
It is now very clear that these teams have gone mad with all this LeBron slurping. I am afraid to think of what the Knicks would have been able to accomplish had they found out that LeBron was not a fan of Obama.
At this point I can’t wait until LeBron actually announces where he is going, because I can’t take much more of these shenanigans.
