Bulls fans will be greeted with another statue in the near future when they arrive at the United Center as a second Bulls legend will be immortalized in the form of a monument.
Today the Chicago Bulls announced that it will be unveiling a bronze statue of Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen which will be displayed outside the United Center that will go up before the end of this upcoming season. The statue is also going to be designed and crafted by Omri and Julie Rotblatt-Amrany, which is the same team that crafted the world famous Michael Jordan statue that currently resides outside of the United Center.
Scottie was informed of the Bull’s plans during the same week that he was enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame and said:
Words really can’t express my feelings,”
“It’s an unbelievable honor and truly amazing. It’s something you dream of as a kid growing up, but you can never foresee those childhood fantasies becoming reality. You see statues of individuals who have done great things and made their mark on history, but as a basketball player, you never really think about arriving at this point. It’s an amazing honor for the Chicago Bulls to do this for me.”
I’m glad to see Scottie is getting the recognition he deserves, this year as one of the greatest players to ever play the game.
If I could make a suggestion for which Scottie Pippen moment to have immortalized in Bronze it would have to nominate……..
..given, Patrick Ewing would probably have to receive some sort of compensation for the rehashing of the exact moment where his man hood taken
