Even more reason to dislike Duke, but what that being said I have seen Doc’s kid up in person, the kid is the real deal and with him in the fold unfortunately Duke will be in title contention for years to come.

I am real enthusiastic about that. Here are the details:

Shooting guard Austin Rivers, the No. 1-ranked player in the recruiting class of 2011, has committed to Duke, according to his high school coach.

Rivers, a highly sought-after playmaker from Winter Park, Fla., who at one time committed to Florida, revealed his plans Thursday, Winter Park coach David Bailey said.

“He picked Duke because of [Krzyzewski] and his staff,” Bailey said. “There is a ton of tradition at Duke and it was the best place for him from a basketball and academic standpoint.”

As a self proclaim Duke Hater, this doesn’t please me, but the young man’s reasoning is sound and the Duke system will fit him well. I wish him much success.
