Eagles QB Michael Vick: “I Want to Start Again”
One of the hardest things to do in life is not overreact and get caught up in the emotion of the moment.
Michael Vick has had a rough couple of years (a lot of that is his own doing), but unless you dress your dog in sweaters you wanted him to have a second chance.
Everyone got a little nostagic watching Vick running around against the Packers like the Vick of old.
But lets put things in perspective, The Eagles have committed to Kevin Kolb and I don’t think you can just give up on him after a half of play, no matter how awful he looked.
Also the Packers prepared the entire week for Kolb, not for Vick, so I could see how the freelance style of Vick could cause them problems.
Here is what Vick had to say about his performance:
The QB, while noting he was disappointed with the loss, reiterated that it’s his goal to again be a starting QB in the NFL.
“Hopefully,” he said. “I still feel like I can play at a high level. I feel like if I had been out there for four quarters maybe we would have had a chance to win the game. But that’s all hindsight now.”
That is the attitude Vick should have and he was excellent this afternoon.
Once again proves my point why Vick was ill suited to be a “Wildcat QB”. He is at his best while freelancing at the quarterback position. With the “Wildcat” 90% of the time it is a run between the tackles and as you saw with the Eagles4th and 1 attempt that isn’t Vick’s strong suit.
My advice to him, just keeping working hard, don’t make any waves about being the starter and if he is truly gives the Eagles the best chance to win, he will be out on the field.Powered by Sidelines
