On Saturday, September 25, thousands of football fans will flock to the Georgia Dome to witness The Bank of America Atlanta Football Classic, a rivalry between Florida A&M University and Tennessee State University that makes this game one of the most electrifying match-ups in Black college football. Now in its 21st year, The Bank of America Atlanta Football Classic is produced by The 100 Black Men of Atlanta with support from global brands like Coors, McDonald’s, Delta and Allstate. Proceeds from the game benefit Project Success, a program facilitated by the organization with the goal of creating an educated work-force of well-rounded individuals who understand the importance of giving back.

On September 16, media were treated to a private preview where John Grant, CEOof The 100 Black Men of Atlanta, gave them an exclusive first look at some of the unique, new elements that make the Bank Of America Atlanta Football Classic worthy of its tagline “History Happens Here”. Some of the new components attendees should expect include:

- The Autograph Village at the Fan Experience: On Saturday from 9 am – 3 pm, ticket holders will have an opportunity to meet and greet some of their favorite celebrities prior to attending the game. Some of the confirmed attendees include Doc Shaw of Disney’s “Pair of Kings” and Tyler Perry’s “House of Payne,” R&B group Jagged Edge, Ray Lavender and Isaac Keys of Donald Trump’s “The Ultimate Merger,” and several others.  Attendees will also be treated to performances by some of Atlanta’s hottest recording artists in The Coors Light Cold Zone.

- The AT&T Red Carpet: For the first time in its history, celebrity attendees will walk the red carpet at the game, giving fans a taste of Hollywood inside of the Georgia Dome. The red carpet will be active from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm.

- The Cupid Shuffle Challenge: In keeping with its tagline “History Happens Here” organizers of the Bank of America Atlanta Football Classic will set out to break the current world record for the Longest Line Dance by encouraging attendees to participate in the “Cupid Shuffle Challenge.” The goal is to get everyone in the Georgia Dome to do the popular dance while representatives from the Guinness Book of World Records assess how many people join in on the fun. In addition to the actual football game, The Bank of America Atlanta Football Classic offers a host of special experiences that include a health fair sponsored by Abbott , a job fair presented by the Georgia Department of Labor, the donation of over 39,000 pounds of food to the Atlanta Community Food Bank by Tyson Foods and much more.

I haven't been to AFC in a few years. The real show starts at halftime when FAMU's band takes the field.
