Osgood is very lucky he wasn’t killed in this incident where a crazy man Julian Armond Bartletto busted into the house of a young lady he was visiting.

You will not believe what you are about to read.

Here are the details:

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Kassim Osgood had to leap out a second-floor window late Monday to escape a gun-wielding man who had attacked him and a 19-year-old woman he was visiting in a home in the 2000 block of Fort Caroline Road.

By the time it was over, the armed intruder traded gunfire with the woman after sticking a gun to her head, saying, “What did that football player say to his girlfriend, it’s a good day to die,” misquoting ex-Florida Gator Chris Rainey’s recent text message to a former girlfriend after an arrest, according to a Sheriff’s Office report.

Mackenzie Rae Putnal and Osgood, 30, were watching television in a second-floor game room just before 11:15 p.m. when a man walked in with his face covered with a plastic bag and pointed a gun at them. Exclaiming that “I can’t believe you’re with that guy,” he pulled Putnal around the room by her hair and hit her with gun and fists before hitting Osgood in the head with the weapon too, the arrest report said.

The gunman took the woman’s cell phone and tackled her when she tried to flee, holding the gun to her head as well as Osgood’s and also hitting her dog several times. When he ordered the couple to sit on the floor, Putnal escaped down a hall and leaped over the balcony to the floor below, the report said.

The gunman ran after her, so Osgood jammed a chair under the game room door handle and jumped out a window to the lawn below, running to a neighbor’s house to call police. Meanwhile, Bartletto and Putnal confronted each other downstairs with guns. The woman targeted him with her laser sight before both shot at each other and missed.

Normally I don’t include that much in the quotes of the story, but it is so unbelievable I wanted to make sure you read the entire thing.

Remember what I told you about the five things that get men in trouble:

  1. Women
  2. Money
  3. Drugs
  4. Music
  5. Sports

The situation was set up for failure.  Osgood is 30 and Miss. Putnal is 19, it is not an R Kelly situation, but when you are fooling around with younger women, normally there are younger ex boyfriends who a lot of times don’t have the maturity to handle the break up.

The male ego is fragile and seeing your ex girlfriend with a NFL player has made many men act irrational, maybe not to this extreme, but why take the risk?

After what happened to Steve McNair I caution these players to be very careful with the type of women they are dealing with, like I said Osgood is very lucky he isn’t dead.

I am in no way blaming Miss Putnal, this is more about Osgood being smarter in his decisions or at least finding out more information about the women he is dealing with

I am still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that Miss Putnal had a gun with laser sight isn’t something you can just get at K-Mart.

Are we living in the Matix?  This sounds more the plot to Salt.

I am glad no one was hurt, but once again:

The fact that you say anything negative about Osgood or Putnal is absolutely disgusting. THEY both are the VICTIMS here in this violent and terrifying incident. It is upsetting that people twist this to state that Osgood needs to watch who he hangs around or judge that she had a gun, both which are legal. Barletto is the criminal here. It is not Osgood's or Putnal's fault that someone else attacked them. Thank God she was able to defend herself and they both got away OK.

  2. VDeuce says:

He didn’t say anything negative about Osgood or the girl! He said Osgood needs to be smarter and find out more information about the women he’s dealing with. I hate when people can’t handle the TRUTH. He wasn’t being judgmental either, people are way too sensitive and “moist” in 2010!

THIS STATEMENT IS WEAK! Should we start running polygraphs & law enforcement background checks on women we meet? Get the "F" outta here! There's only 1 victim in this article and his name is JULIAN ARMOND BARTLETTO!!!

Who the hell cares if she is 19yrs old , she's of age damn…. Kassim Osgood & R. (Pissing on hoes) Kelly doesn't even belong in the same sentence! Jokes foreal!!
My prayers go out to Kassim Osgood and his family, get well soon my man and back on the football field so all of this can be left behind!

    We love you K.O.

All: Robert has a SERIOUS hatred for women, look at his previous posts and commentary, he will always find a way to blame the women OR the other person, BUT NEVER THE ATHLETES! When Mayweather beat his BM, Robert was more concerned that it was done in front of the kids, NOT that Mayweather BEAT his BM! When athletes get busted for threats, violence, beating, roses, assault, texts, his lesson learned bullshit always favors the athletes as victims, NEVER the athletes NOR the husbands/boyfriends that are victims. He hates women….pretty “moist” for a “straight’ guy, IMHO.

  6. bob says:

She is white and shouldnt have anything to do with black guys and vise versa. She deserves all the trouble she gets

  7. @JaxDomino says:

I want to correct something, it is LEGAL in Florida to have a laser sight on a hand gun. Go to Bullseye and you can buy one off the rack! It is also LEGAL for an 18+ to have a hand gun. I don't think she should have been kicked off the Roar, and I also don't see why Osgood should be fined or suspended. HE WAS ATTACKED. Come on Son!

  8. beginning2h8theJAGS says:

Yes, they are both victims. The ex is a straight up idiot. Race has nothing to do with it. A grown man should not be dating a 19 year old. What do they have in common other than sex and Hello Kitty. He's established, 19 year olds are not, they are still trying to find what they want to do in life. If you are over the age of 25, and want to date a 19 year old, then maybe it's time you grew up and that includes women who date much younger men. Legal age or not, think of what you were doing at 19. Duh! They both should be punished for violating the rules. When you try to hide things, it eventually comes out one way or another. Unfortunately, it came out this way. The reporter is right, he should be dating a much more mature woman who doesn't have the typical immature high school drama. He's in the public eye and making millions only to have bad press. What an idiot. Glad they are both safe and legal or not, I am glad she had the gun to defend herself! If it is illegal, she still should be punished for having it.

  9. fred says:

It sounds like Bartletto was a jealous ex boyfriend with a screw loose. He's going to prison for a long time.

Putnal is completely justified in shooting at someone who invaded her home, put a gun to her head and slung her around the room by her hair. I would, however, question the judgement of any 19yr old girl who would date a guy like Bartletto or invite a 30yr old man to her bedroom late at night while her parents are away.

There is nothing illegal about what Osgood did and there is no way he could have known about Bartletto. But smart people make it a point NOT to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. And a 19yr old girl's bedroom late at night while her parents are away is the wrong place at the wrong time. A 30yr old man should be past that kind of high school crap.

Robert is right in his analysis of this situation. Though I suppose whether someone agrees with Robert and me depends a lot on whether they keep their brains in the head or in their pants.

  10. KC says:

If anything Osgood should have been a man & made sure she was ok, instead of leaving her to find for herself. The statement that seeing Miss Putnal with another man that so happen to be a NFL player could have been a boiling point for her ex is very true. Miss Putnal happens to be a very close friend of mine and if I know her like I think I do, she is never one to back down and does not go down with a fight. So her running to her running down stairs to get the gun was a great way to protect herself. Her parents didn’t raise a fool, she didn’t need Osgood to protect her, she was capable of protecting herself, as so clearly stated. I’m just happy that she is safe and that crazy ex of hers is locked away!

  11. MissLJ says:

When are these pro athletes going to realize that they are not invincible?!?! They have been given this tremendous opportunity to lay a secure financial foundation for their future. And you want to throw that away for booze, drugs, a piece of @ss!!! Really?!?

You won’t be playing in the NFL all your life so why not walk the straight and narrow for the few years you have to. After retirement if you want to go buck wild, by all means, have at it!

  12. Dolphs Fan says:

Too bad Mackenzie missed. She should have aimed for the dude's balls, then stood over him and mocked him for the loser he is.
