Osgood is very lucky he wasn’t killed in this incident where a crazy man Julian Armond Bartletto busted into the house of a young lady he was visiting.
You will not believe what you are about to read.
Here are the details:
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Kassim Osgood had to leap out a second-floor window late Monday to escape a gun-wielding man who had attacked him and a 19-year-old woman he was visiting in a home in the 2000 block of Fort Caroline Road.
By the time it was over, the armed intruder traded gunfire with the woman after sticking a gun to her head, saying, “What did that football player say to his girlfriend, it’s a good day to die,” misquoting ex-Florida Gator Chris Rainey’s recent text message to a former girlfriend after an arrest, according to a Sheriff’s Office report.
Mackenzie Rae Putnal and Osgood, 30, were watching television in a second-floor game room just before 11:15 p.m. when a man walked in with his face covered with a plastic bag and pointed a gun at them. Exclaiming that “I can’t believe you’re with that guy,” he pulled Putnal around the room by her hair and hit her with gun and fists before hitting Osgood in the head with the weapon too, the arrest report said.
The gunman took the woman’s cell phone and tackled her when she tried to flee, holding the gun to her head as well as Osgood’s and also hitting her dog several times. When he ordered the couple to sit on the floor, Putnal escaped down a hall and leaped over the balcony to the floor below, the report said.
The gunman ran after her, so Osgood jammed a chair under the game room door handle and jumped out a window to the lawn below, running to a neighbor’s house to call police. Meanwhile, Bartletto and Putnal confronted each other downstairs with guns. The woman targeted him with her laser sight before both shot at each other and missed.
Normally I don’t include that much in the quotes of the story, but it is so unbelievable I wanted to make sure you read the entire thing.
Remember what I told you about the five things that get men in trouble:
- Women
- Money
- Drugs
- Music
- Sports
The situation was set up for failure. Osgood is 30 and Miss. Putnal is 19, it is not an R Kelly situation, but when you are fooling around with younger women, normally there are younger ex boyfriends who a lot of times don’t have the maturity to handle the break up.
The male ego is fragile and seeing your ex girlfriend with a NFL player has made many men act irrational, maybe not to this extreme, but why take the risk?
After what happened to Steve McNair I caution these players to be very careful with the type of women they are dealing with, like I said Osgood is very lucky he isn’t dead.
I am in no way blaming Miss Putnal, this is more about Osgood being smarter in his decisions or at least finding out more information about the women he is dealing with
I am still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that Miss Putnal had a gun with laser sight isn’t something you can just get at K-Mart.
Are we living in the Matix? This sounds more the plot to Salt.
I am glad no one was hurt, but once again:
