The only reason this story is interesting to me is because Andy is the son of former Michigan football coach Gary Moeller and if he was an athlete it would be plastered all over the front page of ESPN.com, so we should be fair in our reporting.
This isn’t Young Andy first run in with the law, alcohol and him behind the wheel. It is actually his third. Here are the details:
Baltimore Ravens assistant offensive line coach Andy Moeller was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence early Saturday morning.
Moeller was pulled over for speeding in Baltimore County at nearly 1 a.m. Saturday morning.
He also was charged with negligent driving.
“We’re aware of the situation,” Ravens senior vice president of public and community relations Kevin Byrne said
On May 14, Moeller was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence and negligent driving.
He received a judgment of acquittal on Aug. 25 in Carroll County district court, according to court records.
When Moeller was coaching at the University of Michigan, he was arrested on Dec. 8, 2007 for refusing to take a breathalyzer exam following a traffic incident. Moeller was taken to the hospital where blood was drawn.
Maybe Young Moeller is just unlucky or maybe he has a problem that people are just deciding to ignore because of his daddy.
Either way he should ease up on the Bud Lights before getting in a car next time.
