Video: Ray Lewis Blames Refs, Says Bengals Didn’t Earn Victory

Ray Lewis is first ballot Hall of Famer, one of the best Linebackers that has ever put on the pads.

But he whines a lot when things don’t go his way.

He cries like a Kardashian when she loses her Blackberry.

Most people give him a pass because he is Ray Lewis, I am not one of those people.

Lewis made some valid points about how the Refs protect quarterbacks too much. He made a solid point on a blown call by the refs late in the game against the Bengals.

My problem is when he says the Bengals didn’t “earn” the victory. That is a disrespectful statement and very “moist” on Lewis’ part.

The Bengals played a hell of a game.

The refs didn’t cause Joe Flacco to throw four interceptions. The Bengals punched the Ravens in the mouth and they folded, point blank period.

Ray Lewis needs to stop making excuses and stop forever bitching when the Ravens lose.

He sounded like a 16 year old teenager who just found out Justin Beiber had a girlfriend.

Do you need some tissue for those Tebow Tears Ray?

Man up, stop crying and give credit when credit is due, can you preach about that Reverend Ray.

  • I tend to agree with Ray's side on this. Not only were the two penalties completely wrong, but they helped create points for the Bengals. Honestly, two of the worst calls I've seen in a long time. You rarely see Harbaugh get angry at a call but he was going crazy after the second one, which led to a game winning Bengals field goal. It's pretty safe to say that the Ravens would have won if not for the refs.

However, I do agree that "the Bengals didn't earn the victory" was a rude statement. It's not like the Bengals forced the refs to make those bad calls. Ray should've just stuck with his angst against the refs.

    • Bad calls happen all the time. The 2nd call much worse than the 1st. But this is the 4th or 5th time that Ray has blamed the refs. I agree with him that refs bad calls but the Bengals won the game.

  • Ray Lewis has been and always will be one of the biggest cry babies in the NFL. If they gave an award for whining he would be at the top of the list every year. The more he plays the worse offender he will become in trying to destroy the integrity of the officials. The Zebra stripes in the NFL are the best of the best when it comes to professional officiating.

    • wow must be a highschool ref that could'nt make it in college ,,, dude wipe your nose you gotta lil something on it! as for ray,,, he has a valid point on just about everything he said ,, did the bungles earn the victory? no in my opinion they did'nt ,, their offence didnt earn anything except 9 points their defense played a hell of a game kudos to those guys !! the ravens offense is the reason they lost but believe me the refs did take a major dump in harbough's shoe on both of those calls and in a sense the ravens should have been up by 2 td's at that point but they wer'nt and if those calls would'nt have been made the ravens more than likely would have won 10-9 because with 6 minute left in the game joe would have not thrown those 2 pics because it would have been a steady dose of ray rice ,, instead joe had a bad day and threw the final 2 pics of the day!! the ravens do get cornholed more than most teams i have direct ticket i can see it for myself

  • The Ravens did not play well enough on offense to earn a victory but the referees bad calls on the two plays in question did affect the outcome of the game. The tripping call negated a sack on third down that took the Bengals out of field goal range. The roughing call created great field position that the Bengals still couldn't capitalize on.

  • Arrested for murder
Following a Super Bowl XXXIV party in Atlanta on January 31, 2000, a fight broke out between Lewis and another group of people, resulting in the stabbing deaths of Jacinth Baker and Richard Lollar. Lewis and two companions, Reginald Oakley and Joseph Sweeting were brought to an Atlanta police station for questioning. Eleven days later, the three were indicted on murder and aggravated assault charges.
Lewis' attorney arranged for the murder charges against Lewis to be dropped in exchange for his testimony against Oakley and Sweeting, and a guilty plea to a misdemeanor charge of obstruction of justice.[21] Lewis was sentenced to one year of probation and was fined US$250,000 by the NFL, which was believed to be the highest fine levied against an NFL player for an infraction not involving substance abuse.[22]
Oakley and Sweeting were acquitted of the charges in June 2000.[23] No other suspects have ever been arrested for the crime.
The following year, Lewis was named Super Bowl XXXV MVP. However, the signature phrase "I'm going to Disney World!" was given instead by quarterback Trent Dilfer.
On April 29, 2004, Lewis reached a settlement with four-year-old India Lollar, born months after the death of her father Richard, preempting a scheduled civil proceeding. Lewis also reached an undisclosed settlement with Baker's family

    • and your point is? congrads you can cut and paste! so tired of the idiots that dwell on this,, if ray was guilty of murder do you honestly believe that the da would have just let him walk??? that da had a viagra enhanced hard on for ray since day 1 ,,, that would have made that da's career ,, no way he lets him walk if he had something on him,,alll he had was rays name ,, and think about it he is ray lewis do you honestly believe he would get his hands dirty ,,, if he wanted some1 taken care of im sure it could be done withouta paper trail to him

  • The guy has sacrificed his body for 15 years as one of the leagues best LB's and backs up his talk on the field every Sunday (yesterday alone, 10 tackles incl. a sack ). He has every right to voice his opinions or grievances because he's on the field, your not. If I had a team, I would give anything for at least one player with the heart of Ray Lewis. He just lost the game, you want him to be fired up or disappointed but I guess you wouldn't understand that numbnuts. This is football, yo!
