While the media has concentrated on Brett Favre, Jenn Sterger, Deadspin, masseuses and the NFL in the “Lil Favre” incident, the one person who we haven’t heard from is Deanna Favre.
She is a pretty remarkable woman.
She has been with Brett since he was popping pills and drinking beers like Norm on Cheers. She has stayed true to Brett through various affairs as chronicled in her book. Most importantly, she is a breast cancer survivor.
In a world now where to be considered a “Wifey” you just had to be knocked up by an athlete, she is a true NFL wife in the realist sense.
If anyone knows if the pics of “Lil Favre” are really Favre it would be her. She is scheduled to appear on Good Morning American tomorrow and no one knows if she will acknowledge the controversy that is swirling around her husband:
Deanna Favre’s specter has hovered over the Brett Favre-Jenn Sterger scandal since it began. She’s been a public figure in the past, an activist for breast cancer awareness and author, but hasn’t been heard from since Deadspin’s report of Favre’s alleged improprieties surfaced.
That will likely soon change, as she’s scheduled to appear on “Good Morning America,” the ABC morning show, Thursday to promote her newest book, “The Cure for the Chronic Life: Overcoming the Hopelessness That Holds You Back.”
It’s unknown whether she will discuss the scandal involving her husband or if the subject will even be approached by the show’s hosts, but she has been open in the past about Favre’s history of alcohol and prescription drug abuse.
It has to bother Mrs. Favre, that Jenn Sterger bares a striking resemblance to her. If I had to guess, I think she gets one softball question about the “Lil Favre” incident which she will brush aside.
Of course she could surprise us all and go gangster, but I highly doubt that would happen, I will DVR though just in case.
*UPDATE*
Mrs. Favre was asked how she was handling the “Lil Favre” incident and as expected she gave a very safe, standard answer:
“I can tell you that faith, I’m a woman of faith,” Deanna Favre said. “And faith has gotten me through many difficult struggles. It will get me through this one.
Asked specifically how she and her husband are handling the stress of the allegations, Deanna Favre said, “I’m handling this through faith.”
