You have no idea how many fantasy football games come down each week to a less than five points. While the Titans were winning the game against the Jaguars, Chris Johnson was struggling.
On 4th down, CJ broke free on a 35 yard TD run with less than two minutes to go and fantasy football players either rejoiced or threw their remotes at the TV.
It happens every week— so most Fantasy owners understand that is how the cookie crumbles/ But what if I told you the TD would have never happened if not for ESPN?
If you believe Titans coach Jeff Fisher that is the case:
Titans coach Jeff Fisher indicated that it was largely ESPN’s fault. The network still needed more television timeouts and apparently asked both coaching staffs to take timeouts late.
“Jack used his timeouts,” Fisher said after the game via Terry McCormick of Titans Insider. “My understanding is they needed network timeouts, and that’s why Jack used his timeouts. They came over and asked me to do it, but I said, ‘I was hoping to get a first down and kneel on it.'”
If true I wonder how often this happens?
Because if it is happening a lot, the NFL should step in because that is an intergrity issue. No network should have access to coaches like that to even make such a suggestion.
In the immortal words of Kanye West, no one should have that much “POWER”.
*UPDATE*
Deadspin reports that Fisher was joking the entire time.
