Oscar Robertson career averages were 25.7 points, 9.5 assists and 7.5 rebounds.  Robertson once average a triple double for a season.  He is one of the greatest players of all time.  It wouldn’t matter the era Robertson was a “Baller”.

He knows more about basketball than I would ever know even if I was schooled by James Naismith.

With that being said when I heard on ESPN First Take that Robertson said that Lebron James is better than Michael Jordan here was my reaction:

Check out the quote from the Big O:

Oscar Robertson – “[Is] Barkley trying to say that LeBron isn’t as good as Michael Jordan? .. come on!”

Reporter – “What do you think?”

Oscar Robertson – “psh.. LeBron is in a class by himself”

In Lebron’s defense his career is just hitting the second chapter. His credentials are great for his first seven years in the league. He is only 25 years old and no one knows what will happen from here.

After Shaq left the building and Kobe and the Lakers stuggled for a few years people wrote him off, never write a great player off when the book isn’t finish being written. Kobe is now looking for a 3 peat.

For all we know Lebron will run multiple championships in a row or will end up like Karl Malone, the point is we just don’t know, so don’t speak in absolutes.

Jordan’s novel is done and he is seen by most as the greatest basketball player of all time. Lebron physically maybe superior to Michael Jordan, but athletic ability is just a component of what makes a champion.

Before Lebron can even be in the same breath as Michael Jordan, he going to need more jewelry than Roc-A-Fella chains.

Everyone should be patient and see how it plays out, before saying crazy statements like Lebron is better than Jordan.

Even the great Oscar Robertson should know better than that.

  1. Thanks for your posting. Another issue is that being a photographer will involve not only difficulties in recording award-winning photographs but in addition hardships in getting the best digital camera suited to your requirements and most especially issues in maintaining the grade of your camera. This can be very correct and obvious for those professional photographers that are in to capturing this nature’s engaging scenes – the mountains, the particular forests, the particular wild or perhaps the seas. Going to these exciting places undoubtedly requires a digicam that can surpass the wild’s hard settings.
