As the NFL season comes to a conclusion, emotions are running high.
We have Pacquaio vs. Margarito style fights, players blaming God for mis-catches, and then you have Aqib Talib who is known to have a short fuse going at it with an official.
Here are the details:
According to multiple writers for the Bucs, Talib and an official yelled at each other after the game, with obscenities flying in both directions. Talib was apparently upset with a pass interference call against teammate Myron Lewis.
Stephen Holder of the St. Petersburg Times said the official told Talib “you played like —–”.
According to Rick Stroud of the same paper, Talib responded “I’ll (hit) you in your b—- a– mouth.”
If Talib is disciplined, the official should be as well. The official has a responsiblitly to be a professional as much as the player. Just because the player is flying off the handle, doesn’t mean the official should engage them— which is what happened in this case.
They need to be above this type of childish behavior.
As far as Talib, he is a very talented player, but he has to get his emotions in check before they get him ran out of the league.
He has already been to Anger Management.
Memo to his teacher, it isn’t working.
