Christy Martin helped put female boxing on the map back in the 90′s.

By now, you have heard the story about her husband shooting and stabbing her.

Martin amazingly is still alive and recovering in the hospital. But that didn’t stop someone from trying to rob her house:

Deputies say someone burglarized the Florida home of boxer Christy Martin while she was in the hospital with gunshot and stab wounds.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jim Solomons says a friend contacted authorities after going to the Apopka-area home to pick up some belongings for Martin. It’s not clear if anything was stolen.

The 42-year-old boxer was shot and stabbed at home Tuesday and taken to a hospital after flagging down a motorist for help.

Martin told deputies that her husband attacked her. Deputies are still searching for 66-year-old James Martin.

You have to be a strong woman to get shot and stabbed, and then be able to track down someone from help.

What I would like to know is what is the hold-up capturing her husband? If the police are getting outsmarted by a 66 year man, then I wouldn’t feel very comfortable living in that city.

Why weren’t the police watching the home? Because if Mr. Martin was running low on supplies, that is the first place he would go back to if he became desperate.

Hopefully he is arrested soon before he hurts anyone else.
