Greg Oden to Undergo Microfracture Surgery, 2010-11 Season Over

It is not my place to tell any athlete to retire, but you have to wonder if it will ever work out for Greg Oden.

He has had knee problems since he was in High School and at some point you just have to “chuck up the deuces” and move on.

He is an extremely nice young man and as an Ohio State alum it pains me to see his career just have all these set backs, here are the details:

Greg Oden will undergo microfracture surgery on his left knee and miss the entire 2010-11 season.

The bad luck continues for Oden and the Blazers, so go ahead and drop him if you were holding him in hopes of a comeback.

It’s tough not to feel bad for Oden and the Blazers, as Kevin Durant continues his dominant ways in OKC.

If Oden decides to continue on, we wish him the best, but I personally just don’t think we will ever see him back on the NBA court ever again.

The Blazers franchise seems to be cursed as well with major injury, after major injury.  Did they offend a goat or sell Babe Ruth?

  • Stick a fork in him, he’s done. He isn’t Grant Hill who was an All-Star & then had injury issues, like this article mentions, Oden has dealt with serious injuries since high school. This is sad. At this point Oden can’t even get healthy enough to get back on the court to get injured again. Smart to turn pro after 1 season @ The OSU, 2 seasons of college ball would of let the League know there was no way he could stay healthy for 82 games + playoffs.

    • Yeah, this is his 2nd microfracture
