I think people misunderstand when I talk about Lebron James being sensitive.
People assume I think Lebron is lying when he says there are people who really despise him. That isn’t the case— there are people who hate Lebron’s guts.
Fans can say and do harsh things, but as a professional that goes with the territory, as long as they aren’t up in your face disrespecting you or threatening your family there is no need to even let it bother you.
I think Lebron has been fawned over for so long, he doesn’t handle negativity well and he can’t separate criticisms from the “fanatics” out there.
I think people in general take athletes too seriously. They are just playing a game they shouldn’t have such an effect on your life, but unfortunately for some people they are more than just guys who shoot a ball through a hoop.
The latest website to pop up is KeepLebronOut.com.
It’s their goal is to keep Lebron out of the NBA All-Star game.
Here is their mission statement:
It’s simple: if you hate LeBron James as much as we do, fill out the all-star ballot on NBA.com, and pick anyone but LeBron to start at forward for the Eastern Conference. Remember, there’s no limit on voting: the more votes other players get, the better chance we’ll keep his ego in check, and Keep LeBron Out.
Of course this is ridiculous, but it is their right as Americans to start whatever website they like.
What most fans don’t understand is by doing things like this, it just gives Lebron more ammunition to continue to be sensitive.
I always say you can tell how popular someone is, by how much people dislike them.
At this point Lebron is one of the most popular players in the world.
