Lebron is in favor of contraction because he wants all the teams to be “superfriends” (read Lebron’s comments). In making his comments he mentioned the Nets as a team he would like to Fade to Turkey with Allen Iverson.
Avery Johnson was not pleased by these comments.
“I disagree,” Johnson told reporters Sunday. “Maybe the league would be better if we didn’t have three stars on one team.”
I understood what Lebron was saying, but in typical Lebron fashion he didn’t express it very well. I believe what he was trying to say was that with fewer teams the quality of play would be better because the talent wouldn’t be so watered down.
As far as the Nets it is a bit of a slap in the face considering that Lebron told them he was taking their free agent offer seriously this summer.
The Nets could look on the bright side they could be the Cavs.
