Lions Asst Coach Gunther Cunningham Threatens To Beat Up Ricky Williams

Nothing like a feisty old assistant defensive coordinator threatening to go Woody Hayes on a running back because he has been knocking opposing defensive players out.
Pretty Ricky Willams (that’s what they called him) he gotten a rep of delivering some vicious crack back blocks and Gunter Cunningham is not pleased.
“All I can say to Ricky Williams — I want him to know this — if he hits one of our DBs in the back on a crack block, then I’m coming on the field,” Cunningham said. “I mean, he’s had a couple of knockouts, but they’ve been nonlegal. I’ll just put it as that.”

I secretly want Williams to do a crack back just to see if Cunningham is a man of his word.
Ole Ricky has gotten away with a few, but not this time. You can bet he'll be on his best behavior because he knows the refs will be watching. Gunther knew if he made the issue controversial people would pay attention. Smart move.
