Magic Trade Vince Carter to Suns for Hedo Turkoglu and Jason Richardson

This is a step in the right direction since Vince Carter was like “swine flu” to their championship aspirations.

Hedo should have never left the Magic in the first place and Jason Richardson is the type of shooter that should thrive in the Magic’s offensive system.

Dwight Howard should be happy right now.

Here are the details of the trade:

The trade returns former Magic star Hedo Turkoglu, along with Jason Richardson and Earl Clark, to Orlando in exchange for Vince Carter, Marcin Gortat, Mickael Pietrus, a 2011 first-round pick and cash considerations.

Losing Gortat hurts because he was a valuable back up to Dwight Howard. But getting rid of Carter took precedent. The Magic are also close to acquiring “6 Shooter” Arenas from the Wizards to complete their early season overhaul.
