Marvin Lewis made it clear that Carson Palmer will be his quarterback in 2011. Chad OchoCinco’s future is a bit more in doubt. Chad was on the 2 Live Stews radio show yesterday to talked about his feelings on Marvin Lewis and the his future with the Bengals:
“The only thing I can remember, as of right now, about Coach Lewis, is Coach Lewis throwing me under the bus,” said Ochocinco. “When it was time to play the Chargers, knowing that I was hurt. That’s the only thing I can remember at this point…I don’t know. Honestly, I don’t know. To say some of the things that have been said in the past, for some reason, when I was especially down.”
“I have nothing to say about that. I’m not the owner of the team. My hands are out of that situation, said Ochocinco on Lewis’ extension. “When you look for support, it’s always got to come from the one higher up. For the one higher up to say the things he said, it’s really hurt. I don’t see myself really feeling [that].”
I believe a fresh start would be good for Ocho. Fairly or not he is always going to be seen as a scapegoat and problem in Cincinnati.
In a new location, new coach and new quarterback I think he will be energized. I think the Patriots and Bears are best fit. Ocho is a precision route runner and those two teams employ the type of passing offense that would be to his benefit.
I would not be shocked if next year he is a Pro Bowl player, I think he has a lot left in the tank, but for that to happen he needs to leave the Bengals.
Once the Bengals do get rid of him, they won’t be able to use him as an excuse anymore for Carson Palmer’s sub-par play.
