Former Bucs QB Shaun King Arrested on Suspected DUI

I like Shaun King, I have been on his radio show a few times in Tampa. He is a funny and nice guy. It is unfortunate what happened.

Once again you have to be careful when you are driving late at night and had a few beverages. Even if you don’t think you are drunk, legally it might not matter.

Cops are on the look out.

Former Bucs quarterback Shaun King was arrested early Sunday on a DUI charge.

King, 33, of St. Petersburg, was stopped at 2:12 a.m. on U.S. 301 and Holland Road in southern Hillsborough County, according to jail records. He refused to take a blood-alcohol test. He was released about 10 a.m. Sunday after posting $500 bail.

King appeared Monday as usual on his weekday radio show. He addressed the issue briefly at the top of the show, mostly thanking those who have called him with support.

“As most of you know, I was involved in a very unfortunate circumstance over the weekend,” King told listeners. “I can’t comment on it, but I definitely appreciate the support.”

Because he didn’t take a blood alcohol test, he is innocent until proven guilty. Depending on those results he could be exonerated or guilty.

So take a wait and see approach.

Unfortunate story , but I think many of us have been there before , at least he is handling it like a mature adult, unlike many past pro ahletes who continue to have a sense of entitlement after pro careers are over. Damn he looks differnt ……. than in his playing days.
