Ron Artest to Drop Mixtape Feat Snoop, Dre & Monica During All-Star Week

As you know Artest is my favorite player in the league, so it pains me to say this, but I think the after glow of winning a NBA Title has affected his play this year.

He went from a basketball star to a celebrity and while he hasn’t done anything criminal, his focus is being pulled in a lot of different directions.

It is hard enough to keep Artest focused on anything, but he needs to remember it is basketball that is giving him the opportunity to do all these off the court activities.

Hardcourt Mayhem has the details:

Artest plans to put up a mixtape before the weekend starts, according to the Los Angeles Times.

“There’s going to be a bunch of celebrities on it,” Artest said. “I can’t say the names yet, but there’s going to be a bunch of people on there that you wouldn’t believe that would rap or sing. A lot of athletes, a lot of rappers and a couple comedians.”

Rumors have already been coming up that Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Monica (Shannon Brown’s wife) may feature in it.

I am sure it will be a decent mixtape even though Snoop Dogg rapping skills have declined to almost Gucci Mane levels, he is living off reputation similar to Ravens’ defense.
