The interesting thing about the VH1 Reality Show “Basketball Wives” is that for the most part no wives are involved. Jennifer Williams is married, but that is a sham. The others are ex-girlfriends, been divorce for decades or fiancee’ that may never be.
So in the interest of fairness, I thought you would be interested in hearing from a real NBA Wife with a bit of a different perspective on the “life”.
Yolanda Smith who is currently going through a divorce from former #1 NBA Draft Pick Joe Smith speaks on what it is like being with a NBA player for 15 years.
If you recalled Mrs. Smith was thrust into the spotlight when Joe Smith’s girlfriend Deanna Marie upset that she wasn’t Smith’s only lady on the side, decided to go to twitter to prove that she was the #1 girlfriend (I know Miss Marie is not the sharpest young lady) by posting pictures and what not.
Unfortunately this isn’t uncommon these days with the advent of the new age media world we live in. Mrs. Smith for the most part has taken the high road, but decided to chat with the Character Corner, to give her thoughts on a lot of subjects including, being the wife of an athlete, the mistresses, the groupies, how gossip blogs, twitter, facebook affected her children, Athletes cheating and moving on from her marriage.
