The only reason Cousins wasn’t the #1 or #2 pick in the NBA draft was because many thought he was a headcase. This goes all the way back to his high school years.
It was high risk/high reward for any team that drafted him.
The Kings took the risk and it appears they are crapping out (the fact the Maloofs own Vegas casino makes that analogy even more appropriate).
Cousins who has had multiple run ins with his coach and management this season, now has gotten into a fight with a teammate Donte Greene and his been suspended by the team.
You can go to Sam Amick twitter page for all the details.
The gist of it comes from the fact that Cousins did not like the fact that Tyreke Evans took a last second shot against the OKC that missed. Cousins believed he was open and has been critical of Evans decision making (no word on how he feels about Evans’ driving).
Cousins let his frustrations be known toward Evans in the tunnel and in the locker room after the game.
Greene either said or did something to try to defuse the situation (didn’t work) and next thing you know Hagler vs. Hearns broke out. Teammates broke it up and Kings GM Geoff Petrie made the decision even though cooler heads had prevailed to kick Cousins off the plane and suspend him.
This isn’t going to end well.
