I love truTV.
Mainly because of “Forensic Files” which I have seen every single episode and because of it I think I could murder someone and get away of it.
They do have some funny shows on their channel like “Southern Fried Stings” and “Operation Repo” which are so ridiculously over the top you can’t help but laugh.
Charles Barkley has finally had an opportunity to check out the channel, thanks to his work during March Madness and he had an interesting comparison. Larry Brown Sports has the details.
Well once I found out we were going to be on truTV. They actually have a show called…first of all…truTV is really the white BET, truTV is white entertainment television. Dude, it’s some of the craziest stuff I’ve ever seen in my life. They got this one show called ‘Lizard Towing,’ Well they got these two big old boys from the south who be repossessing people’s cars and they end up chasing them down the street, fighting them every week. It is hilarious. These guys sneak into people’s houses. First of all, they seem like great guys, but they two big old country boys and they be stealing people’s cars back. It is the funniest thing in the world. They have people fighting with them all of the time. You’re just laughing the whole time. I’m telling you dude, it’s like white black entertainment television.”
Not exactly sure how to take that because I am black and I watch truTv way more than anything on BET. It is Barkley, so people don’t take it that seriously. I assume what he is saying in general is that BET shows buffoonery for black people and truTV shows buffoonery for white people. I think that is generalizing, but that is what Chuck does best.
Speaking of his coverage of March Madness, I will tell you this, he was pretty awful the first couple of days, but as soon as he started to bet on the games (trust me he was betting and betting heavily) his commentary was excellent. Speaking as a gambler he had a lot more insight than speaking as an anaylyst.
Assuming he has ton of money of the Final Four expect him to be great this weekend.
