It would be cliché to say that Chad Pennington can’t catch a break when the truth is he catches too many. NFL free agent quarterback Chad Pennington has once again sustained a season ending injury. If there’s any bright side to this, it’s that there is no season on the horizon to miss at this time. Pennington tore his ACL playing basketball and will undergo surgery on April 7.
Pennington has a long history of unfortunate injuries that have caused him to miss many games throughout his career. He was in the process of rehabbing a season ending shoulder injury suffered last year while playing for the Miami Dolphins. With the uncertainty of the start to the season, general consensus was that veteran quarterbacks like Pennington who could pick up an offense quickly would be in high demand.
No one deserves the setbacks Pennington’s had to endure over his career. Here’s hoping that he’s able to bounce back for the umpteenth time, if he so chooses.
